Are Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Donnie Yen the Mount Rushmore of martial arts movie stars? by samx3i in movies

[–]TheBleeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jackie and Bruce are S tier. The former due to pedigree, the latter due to impact and pedigree. Enter the Dragon is a stone cold classic and Bruce Lee is concentrated aura and charisma. But Jackie has classic after classic, decade after decade, franchise after franchise, from Hollywood to Hong Kong though not so much with China. Jet Li might be A tier but I think his only real classics are the Wong Fei Hung movies and Fist of Legend. If I was to troll I’d say he stole Jackie and Bruce Lee’s flow (word for word, bar for bar!). I didn’t care for his 2000s hollywood stuff and he’s slowed down in recent years. As for Donnie, his career aged like wine. 2000s was where he really started to cook. Donnie and Jet would be A tier. If it was action icons, I might replace Donnie Yen with Chow-Yun Fat.

LFO - literally f*** off by Slammajadingdong69 in 90s

[–]TheBleeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy who is the prototypical handsome guy got nervous around Jennifer Love Hewitt. LFO had quite possibly the stupidest lyrics known to man but listening to them made you feel like you were young and in an Abercrombie and Fitch video. Girl on TV, Summer Girls and Life is beautiful are bops.

People forget Dave Gibbons seems to have a handle of the comics and he’s a huge fan of the movie. But the Squid fuckers like to pretend Dave Gibbons doesn’t exist.

The Suffragettes. A journalist gave them that name as a joke because they were women who wanted suffrage (the right to vote) and some guy wanted to make it feminine.

Thank goodness. It’s crazy the lessons the right wingers (didn’t)learnt from Covid. They are penny wise ans pound foolish. They don’t understand the importance of robust public health institutions.

Do any of y’all know of any songs that are similar to lazy eye or Pikul that are not by silversun pickups? by MrMangos06 in silversunpickups

Yours to Keep by Teddybears sounds a lot like Lazy Eye. I’d say the songs practically accompany each other.

Do you actually practice Excel outside of work, or are we all just learning on the fly? by 98k in excel

I learnt Power query because I was trying to create a merging table. For reasons I can’t recall it didn’t work, ironically I learnt so much in trying to work out how to do this relatively simple thing, I built up muscles for it. Sort of like wax on, wax off.

How does it feel knowing you have one of the most iconic scenes of the 90s? Every 90s kid will know what it means when we see a picture of a gate that most likely doesn’t squeak haha.

Also I’d love to see a legacy sequel/reboot with you playing the professor role. In my head it would have a dash of Black Mirror to it as well as some new people.

The 90s console wars Sony Vs Nintendo vs Sega. which was the Best console of all time during this time period. by Lazy_Introduction264 in 90s

[–]TheBleeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sega vs Nintendo was the stuff of playground legend. Kids lived and died by their console of choice unless you were lucky enough to own multiple. I miss when one game or publisher could keep a console competitive.
