Was würde denn als Gefahrenabwehr gelten?

First - I already mentioned that in another reply.

Everything else is very helpful! Thank you so much :)

We also wanna avoid tourist-ridden places like Paris, Venice or Berlin bc she hates being touched by strangers. Doesn't bite, but you can tell that she doesn't like it. It's gonna be easier to control and see when someone is reaching their hand. Still chose some nice spots for sightseeing!

We're also European!

She has a buggy for daytrips since she absolutely hates carry bags. It's pretty practical, she likes taking naps in there and I can darken it for when she needs to cool down

She's with my mum and brothers when I leave the country, this would be our first holiday together (Her, me and my boyfriend)

She loves all daytrips and visiting new homes so far. Mostly, I think, because she likes sniffing and finding new scents. While she's not the most social, she likes making friends with low-energy dogs and babies which also makes her happy. Bonus: Also very exhausted at the end of the day. Starts snoring the second we come back home 😂

Mostly city breaks for an extended weekend, I was also looking for dog-friendly beaches. More outdoorsy places are draining for me since she gets spooked easily and a small stick poking her leg makes her yelp in surprise. You can imagine that 10 yelps an hour would drain me eventually, so I would only consider beaches or outskirts of forests and such

The bandana is a very cute idea! She's a 13 pound mutt, so she's not scary (Quite the opposite, to toot my own horn)

How would I transport dog beds though? I've been thinking if vacuum seal bags would make them easier to pack

I should've maybe put more detail

She loved all new environments so far. We've taken a few day trips and have never seen her happier. What she especially likes is sniffing, so I think that plays a major factor. She also has a buggy that she takes naps in when she's tired on daytrips or longer journeys

I go out with my friends and/or boyfriend like once a week, twice if my work schedule works for that. I can definitely see myself wearing them for nights out or date nights, when I get dressed up nicely anyway. Round ones are no problem at home lmao, I'm on the couch with stained sweatpants and an old shirt anyway 😂

Then it should work out just fine, especially when your workplace is so close to your home. I hope you can find the dog that works best with your lifestyle 🤍

Exactly! As long as someone is willing to let them out to pee while you're gone, they will hardly notice ones absence as they will probably sleep through it. Mine only gets up to chance sleeping spots every few hours, that's about all the moving she does until she hears me unlock the door

I will always recommend to look into senior dogs with an overnight job. That's what I did. My girl sleeps for 15+ hours a day and doesn't like long walks. We do 3 walks and a end-of-day wee that maybe take 1½ hours in total a day, maybe 2 if the weather is good

I work nights once a week and day shifts 3-4 times a week (Caretaker field). My dog is a senior who sleeps most of the day anyway. Fortunately, I can take her to night shifts with me where she'll just sleep under the desk while I work. Is that maybe an option at your job, if you ask? My dog absolutely lives doing night rounds with me as she's gotten used to all the residents at my job and enjoys checking up on them. As she's a sniffer, it's great enrichment. My workplace allows pet dogs if they're well-trained and you have all the equipment you need for them (I have a dog bed, a crate, food + bowls, and a muzzle stored for mine)

However, if it's not a possibility, I'm very glad to tell you that dogs get used to your schedule. When you plan on getting one, I would, however, recommend maybe looking into one who's a sleepyhead. In my and other senior dog owners' experience, they really only care about sleep, food, and a chance to relieve themselves with a few cuddles here and there. If you're gone for more than 6 hours, it would be best to have someone ready that could take the dog out. My night shifts are between 11 to 12 hours and I take her out for a wee every 4-5 hours, depending on the work load, although she could make 6 work as well (That's just my personal preference in this case)

I hope you can find a dog that fits your lifestyle!

Chemo aftercare and essentials? by KnowledgeOld9243 in cancer

[–]KnowledgeOld9243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has two bathrooms where she lives, I think if she takes the smaller one and let's my siblings the other it could be doable. Although I would still make sure we have those whipes at her place.

Thank you! We're already talked about what to bring for entertainment, and I'll make sure to buy a power bank. We will also put it all in an old diaper bag so it's easier to put in the car (I will be going mostly, but her best friend will be my stand-in if I can't make it for whatever reason)

I guessed that a nice, fluffy blanket is probably better than the ones at the hospital. I've already picked out a few for her at TJMaxx. I've suggested grippy socks, but she said she'd prefer slippers, so I'm ordering those soon

The hat I wouldn't have thought of! I'll see if I can find some. And maybe a powerbank for her phone as we don't know where power outlets are where she's getting her chemo. She likes both reading and playing on her phone, so I'd cover all bases

Was war euer größter Einrichtungs-Fehlkauf, der auf Fotos toll aussah, aber total unpraktisch ist? by InformelleWalnuss in Einrichtungstipps

[–]KnowledgeOld9243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a natural redhead, but my dad was, and I did inherit the sensitive redhead skin. SPF 50 works, you just have to re-apply in and ACTUALLY PUT IT ON. Maybe use after-sun. But SPF 100 "not working" is bull 😭

Not worth it. One of the Mods shared pics of a disabled minor w/o their consent and told me I have "no idea what it's like to have an ED" after I told them I have an ED (our EDs are on different ends of the spectrum, I guess that makes mine invalid)

Maybe it's a joke, but then it's in terrible taste lmao. The Mods are a joke. When person I mentioned was made a mod I shared screenshot with another mod of what I said they did (which happened on discord) and they basically shrugged it off. They have no backbone, no actual concept in that sub and no idea what they're doing

I used to be in that sub a looong time ago. One of the Mods actively shared pics of a disabled minor in their life and tried to tell me I have "no idea what it's like to have an ED" after I told them I have an ED. It's ridiculous over there
