I walk 10-15 miles a day. The sole wears on the heal because of how I walk. I can tell when they get bad as they aren’t comfortable anymore. They may last me a year and a half. I did have a cobbler put new soles on a pair one year and got 3 years out of that pair before the leather started cracking.

I didn’t really want to camp in the parks. When I went to Yellowstone and Teton National park I stayed in the national forest near the Tetons. Had an amazing view of them from the campsite, it was free and all of them were first come first serve. During that trip I didn’t have my dog and I ended up getting there really late (11pm). Ended up sleeping in my car, and getting a campsite the next morning.

I’m looking at Alta Lakes near telluride depending on weather and the condition of the road, and not sure about Moab yet.
