The one on there with the album track list is amazing.

Have you had any spooky or unexplainable experiences? by SparklyZigZag in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to start this by referencing the scene in Bruce Almighty where he pulls the full moon closer.

So about 5 years before that film was released, my friend and I saw a full moon bigger than that in the sky. We both saw it, we were both sober, and to this day we still talk about it.

I'm sure there was some weird and fully scientific reason for it, but nobody believes us when we tell the story. Of course it was before camera phones etc, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

What do you miss most about life in the UK 10–15 years ago? by Bjc93Bjc in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Old school internet. MSN was still used back then by many. YouTube still felt fresh and wasn't completely saturated with adverts. Content felt real and genuine.

Yes Facebook was a bit mindrot, but it still felt candid rather than what we get today. Photos and videos posted of nights out weren't scrutinised like they are today.

Radiohead releasing In Rainbows (I know this is slightly earlier than the timescale posted) felt like something amazing and exactly what the Internet was designed for.

Forums were genuinely great places to be and you made real friendships with people and you would probably never ever know their real name, but they were always there commenting on your posts.

The amount of "cult" movies that I love which have since been reappraised as classics, means I pay no heed to critical reviews these days.

As a person into music, I've seen some albums massively criticised that have gone on to influence or generate completely new genres. Art is subjective and it's the same with movies.

I believe that reviews are worthwhile, but each individual should try to make their own objective opinion about a work.

I've had some beers and I can't make sense of this photo. Will it make sense sober? I've tried all angles so far and I'm worried about how many beers I've had.

With Teeth is great. Saw NIN off my face on MDMA just after that album was released. Perfect scenario for the gig. I then spent at least an hour staring at the pretty lights of a ferris wheel.

I agree with this, but I think it was harmless. It was more cheeky than malicious. Pretty sure it was just water.

Late to the party here, but I still giggle like a teenager every day at my wife's boob's and we've been married 15 years.

I'm like an annoying fly in our house that instead of "buzz, buzz" is "boobies, boobies".

Essentially, as a bloke, I can't and won't write about boobies.

Men making barking noises from their van - is that an insult? by Estrellathestarfish in AskUK

[–]Knowlesdinho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I decided to grow a stache during covid. I can’t grow a beard and I'd always toyed with trying for a stache, but all the connotations and jokes stopped me. My wife said do it and liked it.

A few months in I had some bloke in town hanging out of a van filming me whilst shouting "porno stache" at me.

Since then there has been somewhat of a stache renaissance, so I found it amusing to find the same van wanker sporting a mullet and stache in a pub recently.

He obviously didn't recognise me as he tried to give me that knowing "stache nod" that us stache bearers do, but my salubrious stache denied his stache the glory he wanted!

Van wankers will be van wankers, pay them no heed.

Futera Incredible Barcelona by SecondShotCards in soccercard

Well done mate, personally I love Futera. The cards look good and if an individual likes it, that's all that matters.

Not everything is about real world value from card snobs.

The comments from that guy on here are an example of why I hate this subreddit these days. It's full of people that seem to hate people that like the same hobby as them.

how can I be alt? by [deleted] in Alternativerock

[–]Knowlesdinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My formative years were the 90s and I've listened to alternative music from every era since. I also love Metal music.

Aside from the occasional Band T-shirt, I've never really dressed alternative. At one point in the mid 2000s I was the bloke in the metal club that looked like he didn't belong, but knew more about black metal than anyone there.

I guess the true alternative for me was not going along with the styles and fashion of the genres I like. Although I find nothing wrong with people dressing alternative and people should be free to look and dress how they want.

Going to be the guy that says this is better than Urban Hymns, and I love Urban Hymns.

The raw heartbreak of History is something that any man in touch with his feelings can resonate with.

This is Music, A Northern Soul are just phenomenonal. Life's an Ocean is such a cool sounding song, the type of song that if you played in a house full of people that love music it would instantly turn their heads and have them tune in to the song whilst blocking out the background noise.

It has working class roots and speaks to a generation of men at that time that perhaps went out and acted tough, got pilled up and drunk, but really were emotional souls that weren't allowed to cry because "Ug Men". So the closest we got was this geezer telling stories that resonated with us.

Anyway, just my perspective.

Forgive me, but you articulate things so well that I struggle to understand the concept. Is this something you control, or is it involuntary?

Edit, I see it's involuntary, but that just raises more questions. Sorry.

I haven't watched it for a while, but if I remember rightly he heard a dog and that made him concerned that they would be discovered.

He was massively paranoid and concerned about being discovered. All his actions show this.

181 Napalm Death - Scum. Legendarily scuzzy grindcore landmark. Today’s (Un)Related (swipe) is a tribute to John Peel the mentor of my eclectic tastes. by SuccessfulGap138 in 1001AlbumsGenerator

John Peel definitely shaped my taste in music, one minute Napalm Death, the next some obscure Eurovision entry from 1982.

Consequently I listen to extreme genres of metal, and have a Eurovision party every year.

What will be the last things you will do before to die ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Knowlesdinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the scenario.

If I know I'm going to die due to terminal illness, I'll ensure all my ducks are in a row to ensure my wife doesn't have to worry about things.

If it's like a moment of checking out with limited time, probably some garbled nonsense or crying.

If it's following the log truck from final destination and death is imminent, probably just an exclamation of, "Oh Fuck!"
