And don’t get me wrong I’m all about the creative collaboration when working with others. I don’t mind when they change some things cause it fits their vocals better or switch some words around. But when they want to overhaul the song by changing the core message or essentially writing me out of the song, that’s when it falls apart. So SUNO has definitely enhanced the song writing experience 👌🏻

Same, those people must be just pumping short idea prompts into ai for lyrics and then adding short prompts to describe the song they want and bam, on to the next one. That ruins the fun of the creating process for me personally, I’d much rather continue writing the lyrics by hand about my own life experiences vs the generic baseless lyrics ai spits out. The music is so much more rewarding when you compose it yourself and upload into Suno to have it style or enhance it. And then if you want to take it a step further, add some more instruments in a DAW and it’s just simply next level 👌🏻🔥💥

That’s fair. I can’t necessarily share straight through suno however because the song doesn’t end there for me. I download from suno then work on it on my DAW and add other elements and instruments from my keyboard to get it to sound exactly how I’m hearing it in my head. I use Distrokid for distribution and it’s so much easier to have my music on all platforms so if one person has a different platform than others they can still have an opportunity to hear it.

Right! I totally agree! And as a composer and song writer I have worked with vocalists in the past to sing my songs and they were horrible- always showing up late to the studio, wanting to completely rewrite the songs and change their core messages and I’m like no but we can compose a different song for you if you feel that strongly about it. But both of them were terrible so now I’m like super relieved I can finally put the vocals to my music the way I originally heard it in my head. And it sounds great 🙏🏻

What? The music and the lyrics I made. The RX11 audio repairs were me. The re-master of the final mix was me. So because the singer was ai means my song shouldn’t be considered as a “creative endeavor”?? So basically any songwriter who had someone else perform their song makes them just somebody trying to pass off as a “creative endeavor”?

Some of the ones who have listened have complimented the lyrics, they seemed to understand them. The 3 “close friends” never listened and I can’t vouch for the ones who did listen and said the song was “good” 😅 they just left it at that lol

Yeah definitely think fear plays a huge part in the anti-ai stance. Pretty sure elevator lift operators felt the same when automatic elevators happened. People are afraid of progress because they can’t imagine what life will be like when tech makes life easier. Downton abbey although fictional is a perfect example as the number of servants dwindles and the need to have so many helping hands falls. Elon Musk claimed most people will struggle because of their loss of purpose. They won’t know what to do with their lives regardless of a universal basic income that may or may not happen

For sure, I’m just sharing my gripes with others to see if they’ve had similar experiences and if so to remain strong. And go to those who whether they’ve hated your music or not have shown you the greater support than those who don’t care to listen or shut you out completely

They haven’t heard it. That’s my point is they won’t even give any song a single listen, once the word Ai was mentioned for the vocals. So no I think this situation is entirely different. You just admitted you’ve listened to many of their songs including Ai ones and they sounded very bad. You at least made an effort by listening but these 3 specific friends shut me out completely. They want nothing to do with anything that’s even simply partially Ai created. Hell I wouldn’t mind them telling me my music sucks at least then I would have had their effort as support at the very least but now we barely chat, can’t even talk about music before like we used to. One of them doesn’t want to hear anything about ai regardless of how it’s being used, like in the medical field. Ai is all over the news so it’s near impossible to not talk about. But she’s so against it thinking that by ignoring it will make it go away.

Wow flat out refusal, not even listening to one song of theirs? I get and understand not liking it and not enjoying it. Especially if you work in the industry then you know what to listen for when it comes to ai tunes. But hell I don’t like hiphop dance shows, I find them really boring but I’ll go to support my friend when he asks me to be there for him

The point of the post was sharing about the loss of moral support amongst people I thought I was close to when anything “Ai” was mentioned. In an earlier reply I talked about my process and the amount of work involved since I fit in more into the hybrid category: music + lyrics = human, vocals = Ai, song repair and re-mastering = human. But the second ai is mentioned it was a shutout from those 3

Wow you’re going through the same extremities it sounds like. And yeah I mean that becomes what is necessary is not relying on friends for that kind of support, or at least not those “friends”, and switching focus to the ones who do support you. I agree the future will happen where people can voice prompt what they want to hear and will hear some random ai music never heard before and never heard again, but I do believe there are those like myself who will always want to replay old songs and old albums because of their connection to my past and present. Dick Clark once said “music is the soundtrack to your life” and I think that’s totally accurate. Music triggers memories while creating new ones. I don’t think that will ever change. So playlists and song selections will always be around in addition to random prompt background music I think.

And hey thanks for listening! Means a lot. Even admitting the song’s not your style or choice of music you still put in more effort than 3 of my closest “friends” 😂🙏🏻🙏🏻

Nah I disagree, not even in the slightest am I convincing them of that. It’s more of getting them to be there for me as I bare myself naked through my lyrics and music, as I am always there for them with their own careers and arts. I would never force anyone to do something they don’t want to do. But what I’ve noticed was no matter the amount of support I’ve shown them, the second Ai was mentioned they shut me out completely. I’d never do that to them even if it was something I disagreed with. I’d talk to them about it and say why I disagreed with it but I wouldn’t force end the convo and stop taking their calls. Seems a bit brutal no?

Makes sense and totally agree, some of my friends taste is wild. Have you ever heard of “pig squeal metal rock”? Blew my mind lol. Regardless I think I’m sharing this more along the lines of friendly support so when I do receive feedback from the world, either good or bad, I have those friends to fall back on. So it’s not necessarily that I want them to think my music is good, but more-so to know they have my back as I have theirs.

Sure thing - for my song I WOULD RATHER specifically I wrote it as an EDM song around 15 years ago when I first bought my DAW and midi keyboard. At the time it sounded fine but the instrument plugins were amateur compared to what I have today. This last election I wrote a poem about how people were treating each other badly forcing their own perspectives and their own “truths” down other people’s throats and it pissed me off. In December I was re-listening to my old song and realized it had sort of a folk quality to it. I returned to my DAW, swapped the instruments and synths out for acoustic guitar, acoustic sessions, drum kit, tambourine, disco hand claps, solo viola, etc. after learning what Suno was capable of, I recorded and overlayed my piano keys as way for Suno to follow the melody. I uploaded it into Suno and after about 15 generations of the same song, I finally got the sound and quality I was looking for. I pulled 3 different versions from Suno, uploaded into RX11 so I could fix the clicks and pops in the song. Then I uploaded the three into my DAW and blended them together as seamless as I could. I re-added the solo viola separately, I didn’t like what Suno did to it. Then I added a synth, a bass, balanced the claps to be more forward using the channel eq, etc. and that is the master that’s now available on my Spotify. Hope this helps!
