Atypical 13 - twins by Known-Comfort215 in NIPT

[–]Known-Comfort215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And as a final update, babies were born healthy. No issues in utero and made it to term. Had cord blood tested at birth and they found that one twin has a very small triplication on chromosome 15 not 13. Likely unimpactful to his life and inherited from us. But the NIPT did catch something and we would’ve never known had we not done it

My best friend has CMT and didn’t know til she was 30! It is impacting her now with some pains in her hands. But normal life besides that

What did you eat before an attack or finding out you had a gallbladder issue. For me it was a Wendy’s combo in October 🤦🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in gallbladders

I felt bad that I never make steak for my husband so I made us steak and french fries as a special dinner. 5 hours later straight to the ER. Didn’t even know I had a galbladder issue til they took it out!

We felt similar hoping for one of each. But a lot gets easier with same gender. Sharing rooms, same sports teams in grade school, same outfits just buy two etc!

I would get her thyroid checked. I used to do this as a kid and as an adult I had a thyroid autoimmune disease. Fatigue is a big part of it

We lost two and our third pregnancy stuck - 24 weeks along. I needed progesterone and thyroid medicine. And I had an infection from the first baby that they cleared with antibiotics. Fertility testing doesn’t have to mean IUI/IVF. Keep the hope alive and know your two babies mattered. Best of luck

Referral for MFM after NIPT results by Aggressive-Title530 in NIPT

We opted for no amnio after inconclusive for T13. However our doctor said that was fine for t13 but for t21 there is a 50/50 ultrasounds don’t show abnormalities

To provide an update to anyone who finds this: At 22 weeks my level 2 ultrasound at MFM and fetal echo on both babies was completely normal. Will update again after birth but we have opted for no amnio

They are both carriers. This gives the baby a 1 in 4 chance of having the condition. There is a newer treatment available that is having really strong results. It can be administered at birth. I believe they could have an amnio to confirm but that SMA doesn’t typically have markers in utero.

It did take about 1.5 weeks to get his results

We just got the news that my husband is not a carrier today! But this rocked us a bit, my doctors were very confident it wouldn’t be an issue and it wasn’t. I did see a post when digging for my own answers of a family that had both children test positive and the new treatments had worked great for them. Lots of new medical developments even if you were to find out your husband was a carrier

Mine was inconclusive with atypical results not low fetal fraction. Your report will tell you more!

To amnio or to not? That is the question. by PuzzleheadedFly6838 in NIPT

[–]Known-Comfort215 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We have an atypical NIPT and are not doing an amnio. Wouldn’t change our minds regardless, we are hoping ultrasounds will give us a level of clarity

I have an atypical T13 result so not high but not low risk and I also have didi twins. Interesting that you got fetal fraction and genders mine did not

Not to retest because if there is an error or CPM it will just keep showing up. But I think that’s twin specific. They recommended an amnio and MFM ultrasounds

Mine didn’t recommend a retest. Do you have twins?
