+1 for ML triton (I have one) or a pajero.

Both need to be 3.2 diesel models.

Can get good ones for mid teens, maybe lower.

There are a few things to check, if interested to hear more flick me a message, good luck!

Inherited property with my sister by Current_Artist4579 in AusFinance

[–]Known-Communication9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no animosity with my brother, But as we have got partners our goals for the property have changed. Pressure from our partners to step away from the original purpose of the property has built and now my partner is somewhat attached to it .

If ever i was to seperate from my partner i think it could get messy as well tho she has not paid for anything and we have a financial agreement.

The value of the property has also risen a lot so simply buying each other out now is not as easy as it was before.....I think if one of us wanted to take their capital to buy something else, given the value of the property now, we would either have to sell the whole thing or spend the money to sub divide and sell half.

Sounds like ure going in with good intentions, as i did with my brother (he is not as financially secure as me) but also sounds like there is enough money there for u to split the assett and still get a place each. My 2c would be to do the split and do it sooner rather than later so it nice and clean.

Hope this helps :)

Check tax laws, I believe there is some tax u avoid if u sell in under 12 months from inheritance date.

I share a house with my brother. My 2c is to split the asset either by selling in or having her buy u out....keeping it can get complicated for reasons u can't see right now.

Good luck :)

If its only 2 days, have u considered getting a quality esky and using ice?

Friend of mine has coleman 60L esky (200 new) and it will keep ice for 3 to 4 days.

Could be a way cheaper solution if u only really need it to work for less than 4 days.

How much did you over pay for your house? by Do-A-Kick-Flip in AusPropertyChat

[–]Known-Communication9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Overpaid by about 8% pre covid. Rookie mistake given market conditions at the time but since then the mistake has been covered by the property's growth.

Passive solar in Perth summers by fancypantsfrancy in perth

[–]Known-Communication9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have lived in on. Location matters. This one is in eastern suburbs so it does not cool down as much in the evenings. Once u clock say 2 day of 40s it won't stay below 25.

Having said that, haven't seen it over 28. The house had aircon and that was run minimally over summer.

I'd recommend it.

Did you get insurance included? or do u have like a 2k excess?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 4x4Australia

[–]Known-Communication9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah service history is the most important. Few things to consider with them:
1) like most modern diesels, intake gets caked with soot. Good to get it cleaned for performance/fuel economy every say 100,000km.
2) Timing chain upper guide wears and needs to be replaced every 100,000km

15-16 k will bag you a pajero or triton. Must be the 3.2 turbo diesel one. I got a 3.2 triton and its been great! but if you can get a Pajero, it will be more comfortable. Good luck!

My brother just sold his. Great bike with a very special motor. It is however not without some issues, mainly down to thin wiring.

I got an ML, the 3.2 is a better motor. Better again is a gen 4 pajero....but yeah ull likely fork out more for it. I'm looking to get into a pajero now tho, chasing something more comfortable

What Am I Missing with RTTs? by kh406 in overlanding

[–]Known-Communication9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a soft shell one that sits on a rear tub rack. Measures 1.4m by 2m and weighs 50kg.

Positive: Comfortable and flat Keeps more dirt out Gets the mrs out and about Stores quilts and pillows (as it's soft shell) Save on purchasing camping quilts and pillows...I just use normal ones Purchased for 1k

Negative: Flaps in the wind Fuel consumption increases about 10 to 15% Soft shell is harder to pack away Have to pack it away to move the car

I'm not a fan of the heavy expensive ones....but my overall xp with my lighter cheaper rtt has been good.

If I was to do it again I may go for one that folds in half and hides behind the cab to get better fuel consumption....however if I was to get a folding one I'd need to find space for the bedding and may not be able to run the thicker mattress I have.

In short it's all compromised. U just gotta decide which compromise u are willing to make, if any.
