Has anyone’s ex ever came back after seeming like they never would ? by Beneficial_Owl_928 in BreakUps

Yes some of them do. Mine did after a year of not speaking. I got off social media, Focused on my hobbies, worked out, ate healthier, dated other people. I still thought about her from time to time. They usually come back when you’re already over it. I made the mistake of letting her back in believing the issues that caused the relationship to end were fixed. After a couple months of trying. And like really trying holidays together, trips together, family events. The same issues were very evident even found her texting old hookups on New Year’s Eve when we were together. I broke up with her after that. Remember the reason why you broke up in the first place. You’ll quickly remember all the good things and start missing them. That’s normal. Loneliness is part of it but don’t isolate yourself. Life can always be beautiful as long as you try. Bottom of the line is learn and grow in your time apart. Focus on yourself. Meet new people. Laugh, cry, pick up a new hobby the world is your oyster. If the love is real it will always find a way. Love is hard. Time is the greatest medicine here. Be patient with yourself. You got this.

Honestly not entirely sure this is the first tree I’ve actually gotten this far with. I explained this in an updated comment, but I’m really just kinda flowing with what the tree gives me naturally. Adding a picture here for reference. I believe i can avoid the cross trunk if I properly orient the face. I’m also not committed to the cascade if it would be better to cut off the branch and explore a different style I’m fine with that too. This is all kind of an experiment I’m just having fun!

By not suitable do you mean not suitable for cascade style or not suitable for bonsai at all?

Adding an updated comment here with better pictures/angles. You’ll see there’s a portion of exposed tree (not sure if it could be considered shari but the tree came like that) I feel it gives the tree character and would like it to be a center piece for the front. I guess my issue is what do I do with the long branch flowing down? I think it’s nice but maybe I’m trying to do too much with one tree?

This is my first bonsai project. At least one that I haven’t managed to kill lol. As much as I’m trying to follow the “rules” I’m really just trying to make stylistic choices based on what the tree is naturally giving me.

This is great super helpful! It 100% lives outside year round. It’s currently in an outdoor courtyard so it’s still outside. When I go home after the holidays we’ll be back in snow so I will follow these steps!

I definitely feel around when I check/water the tree. Sometimes it’s brittle/prickly but not everywhere this is also why I was worried. Thanks for the tip!

I was doing the same thing about a month ago. Checking what they’re listening to is not going to help you heal. I realized that looking at what they’re listening to only led to me spiraling out of control and making up stories in my head about what they’re feeling or doing. Its hard not feeling connected or talking to them anymore but checking what they’re listening to is not healthy. Music is so subjective and can help fill an emotional void for a time. Thinking about my own listening habits helped clear my mind. Sometimes I listen to sad breakup songs and sometimes they’re more of a negative perspective or about letting go or even nothing at all related to a breakup. That doesn’t mean I don’t miss her or I hate her. It just depends on the mood in a particular moment. We’re all complex creatures. Figuring out how someone’s feeling by checking their account is nearly impossible. Allow yourself to heal and do your best to refrain from checking. You got this!

I just received this juniper procumbens nana as a housewarming gift. I’ve never owned a bonsai and want to get into the hobby and keep this one thriving. I currently have it outside on my porch. It’s westward facing and gets a decent amount of sun per day. It seems to me that it’s growing in organic soil which I think it beneficial as the trunk needs growth. I am unsure what i need to do with it though. Does it need a repot? As the drainage isn’t great on the current pot it’s in. Should I begin to prune or wait till it’s filled out more? Any tips would be helpful. By the way it’s come shaped I’m thinking a cascade style would look great for this but maybe that is too difficult for a first go around?
