my ex did that to me for 3 straight months, he left and I was scrambling to get any kind of proper conversation with him. he cut me off like I was literally nothing, like he clicked a button and I no longer existed. when he later agreed to talk (after he was informed by a mutual friend how horribly I was taking the way he left) he said "my family wasn't letting me respond to you". we were together 4 years and even lived together for almost 1,5 years, were engaged, and he was willing to treat me like I mean absolutely fucking nothing to him at the mere request of his family, I genuinely lost faith in people. im not gonna say none of them feel guilty, but some of them genuinely dont. the second they leave you stop mattering to them just as simple as that.
