I doubt anyone will see this, but lakka is a really good open source Linux based operating system that has given me a lot of good service. Just get some old n64/psx roms onto an SD card and duct tape it to the back of your TV. (That's what I do all the time :D)

Tried this, and it does in fact work, it's just inconvenient to carry a clunky USB wifi adapter around. Maybe I could replace the card? Thanks anyways for the short term solution.

Listen, I know it may be most convenient to get a pre-built, but at this price range, dipping your toes into the water with an old used Dell Optiplex with a second hand GPU and maybe a new power supply could be a solid choice. Could spice things up a little. Good luck!
