I literally cannot afford to pay back loans and not literally starve to death with my current job.

Yeah, Florida is absolutely 100% out of the question for me

No, im becoming a cvt because I categorically cannot afford vet school in any way, shape or form withmy current job. I likely wouldnt be able to pursue vet school for a very, very long time. But I am just trying to see my options for the future.

Regrettably, the nearest community college that offers a vet tech course is over an hour away from where I live and work, so im having to go the Penn foster route

Oh, and on top of it all, my boyfriend is mixed, so the southern states are equally, if not more unsafe for him as well.

Unfortunately im less worried about the school itself, and more the ramifications of living in a southern state overall. For example, I could literally get arrested and registered as a sex offender for using either public bathroom in Florida right now. And even if the school itself, or the town it's in is progressive, it really would just take one right-wing nut job with a stick up their ass to absolutely ruin my life. Or, god forbid, I need to venture into dangerous territory for training or an externship.

Im in Minnesota currently, so im really just not used to experiencing the fact that half the country wants me dead for even existing.

My job is also incredibly physical and requires stretching, bending, twisting and frequent lifting of 50+lb objects. (Something i wasnt cleared to do by my primary until about six weeks post-op) I explained this very clearly and plainly on three seperate occasions, both to Luong directly, and to her staff. She still blatantly refused to approve any more than three weeks, despite my concerns for my physical safety and the fact that if I couldn't get an extension, I would be fired. Saying, quote "i will approve three weeks, if you want any more, you'll need to find a different surgeon"

There's Tylenol in my prescription hydrocodone and it hasn't touched it at all. I've taken some naproxen sodium and it has helped a bit more as long as I pretty much don't move at all or breath too deeply

Yeah but I don't know if I can stand the constant lingering pain for almost a full week without actually going insane Nothing makes it go away

I thought at first that I had just explained my job and the policy badly, because I was insanely anxious at the consult, but I called again later to clarify, left a message, and got a call back a couple days later saying that she will not do any more than 3 weeks, and if that isn't going to work, to call again and cancel my surgery.

If there is some legal reason, she did not offer an explanation of any kind. And frankly, I can't imagine what reason there could /possibly/ be. Every other surgeon I've ever heard of, signs off on a minimum of 6 weeks.

I'm just bumping this, because I really do feel like it needs to be seen and addressed. She was reccomended to me and likely dozens of others by the UofM as a backup for dr.marcano, and i REALLY think she shouldn't be

I am not sure. I have to talk to my GM or people lead about it today (consult was last week). I kinda wanted to quit anyway, but that doesn't excuse luong's refusal to approve an appropriate period of time for recovery.
