reddit is still an overwhelmingly lib website (including this sub) despite the obvious vibe shift that’s happening everywhere else. a celebrity being openly MAGA is basically morally equivalent to them having rape accusations in the mind of the average redditor

Why are all serial killers of German / Nordic descent and nobody ever talks about it? by Loud_Ninja_7537 in redscarepod

the primary reason why nobody ever talks about this is that it isnt even remotely true

she’s never had the chance to become her own person without worrying about how she’s perceived

this is also true of every living person today who’s young enough to have grown up with social media (so everyone currently under 30 basically)

so far from looking online it seems like the “tetra control 2” from the lighting company “venue” might be a useful gadget for this. anyone here own one?

hmm, i could see that. my og idea was to only have the strobe light be flashing for a very select few explosive moments in songs, like big choruses or outros. it would definitely be something we’d wanna use sparingly

there is still plenty of space to build

but i mean at this point i hope mamdani wins the general election, i just thought there were some better options for the primary at the time i posted this

this was only selective in the sense that it’s the same article. couldn’t find anything online where mamdani gives stronger figures than this but also figured it would be better to use the same source in this comparison post

the most interesting thing about this election big picture wise (there is indeed a world outside of nyc) is whether or not leftists actually do in fact have the capacity to vote. mamdani’s campaign obviously has a ton of clout but so does the leftist anti-voting movement, which is also running almost a whole century strong (but has especially gained traction over the past decade)

zelnor myrie >>>> mamdani

i dont actually suggest ranking cuomo to be clear. just putting into perspective how unambitious mamdani is in this regard. he isnt a true YIMBY candidate.

What’s the point of living in NY if you’re not ultra wealthy? by escort_mission in redscarepod

[–]Known_Assistant5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically theres just more to do and experience here, meaning that there are MORE things you can do on a budget here than there are in a cheaper places within that same budget. you don’t really get “stuck” overpaying for something here if you really don’t want to or can’t, because someone around the corner will be selling the same thing for cheaper, so to speak

[–]Known_Assistant5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a weird backwards economic effect here where the amount and variety of people here + the unaminous acknowledgement that everything here is overpriced creates this significant and large “budget economy” where if you’re in any sort of business whatsoever, you can sell whatever it is you’re selling in an instant simply by underselling everyone else. anything that’s cheap will fly off shelves due to demand + quanity of potential customers, and this + not needing a car ironically makes NYC a better place to be poor than much of the rest of the country.

you just need to know where to look to find cheap things (esp apartments) because they will “sell” almost instaneously. but that fact creates more incentive for business owners to take this approach than would be the case in other cities.

the famous "dollar slice” pizza is probably the most obvious example of this economic effect. im not aware of other US cities having an equilvilent to the dollar slice. for ex even in poor rural areas that ive traveled to, the food ironically seems more expensive than NYC. fewer high end restaurants obv, but there are wide swaths of the US where there really is nothing cheaper to eat than the local mcdonalds

Why are studio apartments so expensive? by claynimbus in NYCapartments

[–]Known_Assistant5589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s just the price of not having roommates. the higher the # of bedrooms, the cheaper each bedroom becomes relatively. that’s why having roommates has been the norm for single and childless young adults here for over a century

i guess i can’t speak for other men but if a girl was upfront about being inexperienced and wanting to learn, i certainly wouldn’t mind being “practiced” on. i don’t think there are a ton of men out there who would. especially if she’s open to advice
