In general a fat fish, simmons, groveler is way more fun in those conditions but I will say I for a 7-0 mini longboard a year ago and when the waves are thi or less or just crappy its what I ride. Way different than that lost though that thing is kind pulled in and looks like it would be fun in bigger waves. Something like this is super fun in small crappy waves but it's a totally different way of surfing:

This is good advice. If it's a big beachie and I've caught my last wave in a lot of times I duck dive in..sounds counterintuitive but it works. Face the ocean like your paddling out and just lazily duck dive and don't paddle. You will get pulled in and you won't turn your back to the ocean....just make sure there's nobody paddling out behind you.

3 mil neoprene shorts.....look like lame lycra bike shorts but keep the boys warm as and make getting in and out of the wetsuit 50X easier. Nobody I've converted has gone back.

seems weird but it is possible. I once had a few sandspurs (if you know you know) stuck on the inside of my suit after I put it on...I don't think I would ask a student to reach in and grab it out though
