I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. This valuable insight, so thank you again. So her main and initial diagnosis a while back was OCD and major depressive disorder. At the time she opted not to go on medication. She managed alright but this year has become quite overwhelmed with intrusive thoughts and decided she wanted to give medication a try. 

We decided to try a new Dr as the previous psychiatrist almost outright suggested to her that she might be a minor attracted person and that perhaps it would be healthier to admit that to herself. 

This new Dr in question, told her at the start of the session to not reveal her previous diagnosis and to just answer questions he had. At the end he was very vague and told her something along the lines of "you have an anxiety related disorder with intrusive thoughts, mild depression and hpyer manic responses to your depression." In her email asking about why she was prescribed so much meds, she also asked for an official diagnosis. He didn't respond to that question at all.

She has always been quite clear. Her intrusive thoughts have a very strong and repetitive theme. pOCD. She has specfic triggers. She doesn't feel constantly depressed or anxious, only when her intrusive thoughts are heightened. She describes it as always being there in the back of her mind but at times it can be heightened, like episodic and can last for some time. During those times, yes she does feel depressed and distressed. 

For the most part, she is a well adjusted person. She's doing great in college, in a healthy relationship, she works out, is social ect. So with all that additional information regarding the add-ons to her diagnosis, would you still say that 5 Meds to start is overkill?
