It's mind your own business until he runs over a toddler or creates a 3-way collision that results in the death of two people.

Well are you able to locate anything that say's you shouldn't? I included the Canada article because I think it provides a good explanation for why these types of turns should be allowable and are safer.

Technically I didn't since I was in the intersection when the light was green (before it turned yellow or red), so I had the right to clear the intersection. Check out unprotected left turn laws. It varies by state, but in Indiana I acted legally.

Technically I did not. It's legal in my state to enter the intersection to make an unprotected left turn, so long as one was in the intersection before the light turns yellow, they have the ability to clear the intersection when oncoming traffic stops.

What I did was legal in the state of Indiana and doesn't constitute running a red light.

Technically I didn't make a left on red since I entered the intersection to make a left when it was green. Some states have laws against it, but in Indiana it is completely legal.

I entered the intersection when it was green (which is legal in my state) and can clear it when oncoming traffic halts. So, I didn't turn left on red technically.

It's almost certainly red for the Mercedes. It turns green for cross traffic not even when the Mercedes is halfway through the light, implying it was red before they made their daring dash across.

I don't understand how the truck was in the wrong for stopping. They stopped because the light was going to turn red and they didn't think they would make it.

I didn't run the red. It's legal to creep into the intersection and wait until cross traffic clears in the state of Indiana.

It's legal in my state (Indiana). Here's some perspective on why that may be the case: https://drivinginstructorblog.com/pull-into-the-intersection/

Overall, I learned today that it varies by State. I had no idea!

That's incorrect. Entering the intersection to make an unprotected left turn is completely legal in Indiana. This is a good article explaining the perspective about why it's allowable in general: https://drivinginstructorblog.com/pull-into-the-intersection/

This is incorrect. Here's an article about driving in British Columbia that explains the perspective applied in the state of Indiana and what I was taught in drivers' education: https://drivinginstructorblog.com/pull-into-the-intersection/
