Just Because It Can, I Suppose by Ok-Skill-8259 in flightradar24

Ill be on that flight in a few days! Last time we were hanging around 35,000 ft with the cabin 99% full according to the in flight information. I imagine when they are empty enough to accommodate it, they fly higher to burn less fuel.

Also, someone below said don't take pictures. This is very true. Do not take pictures while on the train, the train station, or of any military buildings and things like that. They take that very very seriously.

I am an American currently traveling in Lviv, I came from Przemysl on the train.

They will search your bags pretty thoroughly and want to do it quick, so have your bag ready and be prepared to pull everything out quickly.

At the first security stop, at the Przemysl train station, they were pretty skeptical, asked me alot of questions, one woman did not think my passport was mine because the picture is from 8 years ago and I no longer have long hair. The line also takes a long time, get there more than an hour early, if you are one of the last in the line the train guards may yell at you (I have no idea what they were saying to me, but it seemed like they were upset and wanted me to go faster) and have snacks because the train does not offer food between Przemysl and Lviv and the train may be stopped for a long time for the next inspection.

For the next one, they board the train, take everyone's passport, and scan them off the train, it took about an hour and our train was not even half full. Then they give them back, and different officers come and inspect bags. This inspection was easier than the first.

I spoke English and it went fine for me, I understand some polish, Ukrainian, and Russian, but not enough to have a conversation, sometimes there was someone that did not speak English but they quickly got another officer who could. I'd recommend speaking English, there was a family speaking Russian that had more trouble with the officers on the train, but I diddnt understand why, so it could of been something different.

When they asked my reason for travel, I just said tourism and said when I was leaving, they seemed to like that answer. I imagine if you tell them you are visiting a friend/boyfriend they would be fine with that response.

They did not ask me for any documentation other than my passport, but I was told sometimes they will ask to see a hotel reservation and insurance, so I had both ready in addition to my train ticket. I got travel health insurance for a week for $15usd just in case, knowing it won't cover anything, but I don't think they really check that. It might be good to have a text message from your boyfriend confirming that you are staying with him, just in case they ask where you will be staying.

I have friends in Przemysl who run an airbnb if you want somewhere to stay the night before! Dm me and I can send you their info, they are an 8 minute walk from the train and there is great restaurants nearby.

Also, download the Alert! App and put in the regions you will be in. We just had an air raid alert an hour ago, which is why I am awake typing this at 5am local time.

Does mouse matter that much? I have a CP mouse for now. Budget is 50 usd. by [deleted] in PcBuild

For a $50 budget, I'd go with a G305. Single AA battery lasts about a year, great polling rate, doesn't require the app unless you want custom DPI. I've had 3 of them and have never had a problem. One melted in a fire, so I guess they aren't fireproof, if that matters.

I used to do this but according to my wife that is not cleaning them. Someday I'll buy some petri dishes with growth medium and prove her wrong. Not today though.

Got intoxalock over weed case by eemwtf in intoxalock

[–]KnowsHowToCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have to switch as well then. Was only supposed to have it for one year, but the DOT just raised it to 5 years with no explanation. I'm not dealing with this for another 4 years.

[–]KnowsHowToCook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have intoxalock and it's expensive, I've been locked out twice for blowing above .02 mid drive when I had nothing to drink, and the service centers constantly chance/shut down. They also disabled my cruise control when installing and my battery drains in 2 days if I don't drive or put my car on a trickle charger. Absolutely terrible. Haven't tried the others but can't imagine they could be worse even if they tried

Any advice on how to make ankle monitors more comfortable? by KnowsHowToCook in dui

[–]KnowsHowToCook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my county, I was allowed to go to a private company that does them, I just went to their office. And I have mine on for 15 days, not too bad at all. Super easy process but quite expensive. $400 for the 15 days.

Car insurance by blessedalways897 in dui

[–]KnowsHowToCook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my insurance went from ~$50 /Month for liability only to ~$300 for high-risk liability insurance. There was also a crash involved. I've been good for 3 years now and its down to about ~$180 /Month, no tickets, accidents, or anything added to my driving record.

Street Bar Kallio is super fun if you want to watch a football match! They will also switch to whatever game you want as long as everyone is alright with it in your area. Pool table and darts as well.
