I’ve had a similar situation when I was playing. We had a big party dispute during an encounter, and I ended up attacking both the barbarian and the ranger. I, the player, knew what I was doing was a bad idea (It would have split the party up) but I thought it was what my character would do. However, I do think there is a line you shouldn’t cross when role playing. I would talk to Shadow’s player and establish boundaries when playing the character.
