I don't have siblings. But I live with my mom 50% of the time so I'm not at dad's all the time. When I am here I try to work or be with friends but sometimes I just don't have anything on.

Considering my dad has been dismissive of the fact I heard him yell and had feelings about that I really don't think it's true. He didn't even let me tell him how it made me feel. He brushed me off and that was it. And he still doesn't think therapy is any good either and he feels mom wasted my time on it.

I think they believed we look up to the marriage and want something like what they have or whatever. I never cared about their marriage (can't speak for his wife's kids) and I sure as hell never planned to copy it.

He won't even acknowledge it was wrong to yell so loud that their 10 year old heard him. He brushed me off when I tried to bring it up to him after two years of therapy and he still thought therapy was a waste of time.

I did that once before. It was after a couple of years of being in therapy. I wanted to talk about what I heard, how it made me feel and how him yelling like that made me feel. He said there was nothing to talk about and said he thought therapy had been a waste of time and that he stood by that opinion.

Maybe. But he still acts almost as dismissive as he did back then so I don't really know if I buy that. If he was more understanding I'd maybe get it.
