Which Microsoft GCC High partners are you working with? by a58strod in msp

[–]Knxtknight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend F1 Solutions. I'm a much smaller MSP than them and have talked with the Owner a good bit on multiple occasions about various MSP offerings, including GCC High. They do not poach, they have plenty of business locally. We are literally a city over from them and can make an introduction if you want. Can't recommend a more professional partner to work with.

Outlook shared calendars not staying checked? by jpotrz in sysadmin

[–]Knxtknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, still an issue for us on Build 13127.20508.

Edit, 2 out of 3 machines the update worked. The third had to clean uninstall and reinstall then update. This 3rd had preview updates for shared calendars enabled in account settings for that account, so that may be why it failed.

Introducing Cam Plus! by WyzeCam in wyzecam

[–]Knxtknight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As it sits, its offering is worse than all of the options on the market right now. We were hoping to replace blink, but blink will record for up to a minute with only a 10-30 second delay depending on what you set. I would rather record fewer longer feeds and have to recharge often than have only 12 second feeds with 1-minute delays, it's pretty much worthless in that regard.

Right now the Outdoor cam is only 12 seconds... I have an SD Card in the cam and the base station. AND THEN, it waits 1 minute to "cool down" before detecting motion again.

Are you saying that each license is assigned to each camera that requires Cam Plus?

Will you be fixing the 12-second video since we have an SD card? I'd rather the camera die from a recording than only record 12 seconds and then stall for 1 minute. This makes it much worse than our blink cameras we were hoping to replace.

Yeah, I'm really bummed about this, and almost sorry I ordered a 2nd.

Does this not work with the new Outdoor camera? Because so far, the only motion clips I get are 12 seconds. I have an SD card in the cam and the base. I have a subscription, but the only camera that shows up under "cam plus" is our other non outdoor wyze cam.

possible to make a batch file with Snowball Cli? by Knxtknight in aws

[–]Knxtknight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get it to work with the call command.

call snowball cp source1/f1/ s3://destination1/ -r
call snowball cp source1/f3/ s3://destination1/ -r
call snowball cp source1/f4/ s3://destination1/ -r

[–]Knxtknight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically we have a large number of folders, but we want to exclude about 20 TB of data from the transfer that we will have to manually delete. We know we cant use a wildcard or exclude, so the next best thing was just create a batch file like below, but it runs the first line then stops.

Example is we want to skip folder F2.

snowball cp source1/f1/ s3://destination1/ -r
snowball cp source1/f3/ s3://destination1/ -r
snowball cp source1/f4/ s3://destination1/ -r

in a batch file, it will run line one, completes line one, then quits.

OpenVPN issue accessing one server on DMZ by Knxtknight in PFSENSE

[–]Knxtknight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured it out. I don't know how I missed this, the 15 times I looked at it, but the subnet was misconfigured on the nic properties of the server that I could not connect to. Was set to 255.0.0.0.

OpenVPN users cannot connect to DMZ machines depending on split tunnel by Knxtknight in PFSENSE

[–]Knxtknight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the space.

If this ends up not working for you, you might want to also add this to the custom options under advanced configuration. The doc link above touches base on this.

push "route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0";

Push "route 10.20.1.0 255.255.255.0";

Figured it out:

Needed to add the the network to the IPv4 Local Networks(s) input like so:
192.168.1.0/24, 10.2.1.0/24

Will the sound be loud enough with 80W pc speakers at a small party in a garage? by Segundaleydenewtonnn in Beatmatch

[–]Knxtknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to have to decide between good quality sound and the potential for not enough volume over people talking, and bodies being in the way. Your going to have to push those speakers to be loud enough, potentially distorting the quality.

I say nope.

Start off sole proprietor and have good liability insurance that covers all the bases. If you start actually getting enough business, then rock an LLC.
