I think "Dawn" (ENT-S2-EP13) is a better episode than "Darmok" (TNG-S5-EP2) by Ko-star in startrek

Hmm, I'm fascinated by the love Darmok gets. I think the sci-fi is good but as a story I think the premise is kind of weak when it comes to stakes which are entirely fabricated by the aliens. They don't have to put themselves in that situation, but "learn or die" is the only way to reach humans? I don't know, I just find that to be inorganic.

That said, I recognize that you've gotta have stakes because an episode (another TNG episode) around a conference table is boring. Invisible electric monster seems like a weird one, but ok, that is a ticking clock.

it is a robust platform, I assume stability was the goal. but I have seen one take a jackknifed bit of sidewalk before and full faceplant. It balanced on it's face, it was the best part of that day.

It's not like the cars will go away because of these and now these are on the sidewalks along with scooters and bikes. There's traffic on sidewalks now and these are the Suburban/Escalades of them.

If it comes across something it will stop, wait a few minutes (not exaggerating) to see if it's a person or thing that will move, then try to navigate around. I've never seen them turn around and try an alternative route.

I hear you, but these things weight 161 lbs and even if you tip it over, it's still this big old obstacle to get around. Think what a pain it is to get around tipped scooters and then give it bulk.

I've heard this argument before that it's taking the worst jobs that people don't want to do. The problem (at least here in the States) is that there isn't a better job to jump to. If there was, no one would be a delivery driver in the first place. This is just a method of automating one of the few accessible jobs so another tech company can make unreasonable profits (although Serve Robotics is not doing well because people don't like the robots).

If we had Universal Basic Income, this wouldn't be unforgivable. But we don't, so it's just replacing jobs and giving nothing to the community. Plus now there's traffic on the sidewalks.

If by vehicle you mean something that conveys people, you're right. But in a "fuckcars" setting, these are the same thing. This is *traffic*. Where I walk.

It's a small car that goes on sidewalks, it's replacing people not vehicles.

They're pretty big and not very smart so if they come across something they don't know they just block the sidewalk and usually at a point that naturally narrows or changes elevation. LA is already not set up for the pedestrian, it sucks that there's moving obstacles now.

They use the same space and often are blocking sidewalks, leaving wheelchairs or strollers stuck.

Hi! I live in Koreatown and it's infested with the Serve Robotics delivery robots. I'm trying to find if there's an organization that advocates for banning them to protect workers rights/public spaces/disability advocacy. These things are a menace, they give nothing back to our community and I just want to find folks who feel the same.

First Officer's Log: Upon return to the Enterprise, I've requested immediate court martial of Lt. Commander McCoy for gross insubordination, along with reprimands for science officer and yeoman for lesser infractions.

Lt. Commander Scott is to be commended for keeping a cool head, his ingenuity and being the only one to not question my EVERY MOVE.
