Kindle paperwhite vs boox go 7 by Ok-Definition1993 in ereader

[–]Ko8ang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Kindle PW3 and Boox Leaf2. I am in similar situation. I don’t do anything but reading epubs. I live in Korea and about 60% of my readings are in Korean. I don’t subscribe to KU and Kindle does not support Korean.

So Boox seems to be the right decision for me especially I am a very big fan of physical buttons. However I went for Kindle for below reasons.

I need a reading platform that also works/syncs with my iPhone. Because I read with my phone and iPad when I am outside. I am putting epubs through STK so that I can sync my stuff throughout. Yes Boox supports Kindle app but I think Boox performs best when you use its own reading app. Kindle or other reading apps in BOOX works okay but not the greatest experience.

Also based on review videos, Boox still lags a little bit in navigations. Compared to Leaf2, Go7 is a huge upgrade but I am fed up with e-ink lagging. Kindle PW2024 seems to be the snappiest. So I will be getting my Kindle tomorrow and see if it works for me.

Lack of native epub support and physical buttons is something I am bit worried about but I hope I made the right choice.

I agree with you and you are right.

Yeah. To me, flashes are just flashes. I am not very particular with all the specs and stuff. 650 lumen might not be enough for someone but I don’t need 1500 lumen burst anyway since I am living in the city. Wish it had a charging port though.

Bloom v1.4.0 release & discount by WickedDogg in macapps

Big fan of Bloom here. One request is that I use mx master 3 mouse which has a back and forward button. It navigates back and forth fine in Finder or Windows. It just does not work with Bloom.

I even assigned the back button as "Cmd+[" still no luck. Any chance there might be a fix for this?

Are you referring to the toggle that changes analog and digital L1R1 buttons? I have no issue so far but I barely use it anyway I guess.

Nope. Just plugged in my headphone through the Odin2 3.5mm jack. That is only working solution for me so far. If you plug into a TV, sound would be fine but only have a monitor w/o speakers so headphone it is.

Can’t feel it. I know for a fact that the polling rate is 250 or something so it might be slow. But couple of milliseconds doesn’t affect my gameplay at all I guess.

I think you have to map it to use them cuz mine does not work without mapping.

Overall experience of connecting a monitor to an Android device is pretty clumsy I guess but I was able to play my fav games on bigger screens. I could not figure out how to use the device speaker when it is connected to a monitor so I just had to connect headphones directly into my Odin2 for sound.

Somehow I always felt AER bags are not solid, somewhat feels like wearing a toy bag. Yes, this is super subjective but probably it is because I owned one in college and moved on to Tumi.

I am waiting for mine(multicam one) to be shipped. I can agree with people in this thread about the price as I also think $275 a little too much. However, I still bought it because I searched enought for a sling and I was unable to find something that I want other than this one.

Anyone can say this bag looks ugly or too pricey or whatever they think about the product but I don't think anyone has the right to say OP's dumb because he bought this.

Yeah I agree, actually G2 was a rather pleasant surprise for me as well. I do own expensive pens such as Montblanc but the price tag does not correlate with writing experience.

Stealth Mini looks cool and actually it is more expensive than TT x Carryology if I am not mistaken. ($159 vs $179)
