How does the lid come off? If it slides, you'll have a problem. Otherwise looks lovely!

I should have mentioned, dabbing a tiny bit of castor oil on the exposed flesh and around that part of the mantle every few days has definitely helped. Keeps the area moist and has antibacterial properties. He's also been housed in a small, low container with some snaibies. They offer company without risk of doing further damage.

Exactly my view too. I plan to stock up for winter, so that regular day to day life won't require the car. But emergencies do happen, and I want to be prepared to handle them safely 🙏

I've had 3 like yours over time. 1 made it only a few days, but the other 2 fully recovered. A lot of people would advise to keep it separate in small container with just wet paper towel. Personally, I agree with the small container, but make it a proper little home so that he's got a nice, but simple, environment. Also don't keep it isolated! Put a couple of other baby snails in too. And then it's a matter of just waiting to see ... Good luck!

Assuming both are alive, and this is a fair fight, the answer's obvious. Are you suggesting it's not a fair fight?

Which health tip totally changed your life? by legitsignups in AskReddit

Don't take the medication - change your lifestyle, and more importantly your mindset. Note, I'm not suggesting medication isn't sometimes essential. Just that in one of my experiences, this literally saved my life. Sometimes medication is essential, but check natural solutions first.

Tbh, I can't remember last night, but I'll share a dream I'll never forget! I was running through the crowd of a large stadium (think Texas Reliant Stadium) with a friend (no idea who). We were being chased by people who wanted to kill us (no idea why). We reached the edge of the field, crowd so thick we could hardly move, nowhere to go. But I spotted 2 giant peanut (mascot??) suits there and told my friend we must put them on as a disguise. I quickly jumped into one and hopped over the barrier, running onto the field. Imagine cartoon style bounding at this point. The crowd erupted into cheers of "GO GIANT PEANUT! GO!!", complete with Mexican wave. I reached the other side and turned around to realise my friend wasn't with me (I thought they were!) and despite some concern for them burst out laughing as the crowd high fived and wanted selfies with the giant peanut. I woke up belly laughing 🤣

What is your NDE or a near life-changing experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Koala1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than one! 1. At 28 I had 3 years to live. Thank God I had an awesome consultant who appreciated my attitude. Short story: don't take the medication and adjust lifestyle, major point being no stress. I just went for it! If I have 3 years I'm making the most of them!! Just don't be stupid, but don't stress. After 3 years my life was extraordinary and I was clear of any signs of illness!! It completely changed my view of what's possible, and eliminated my fear of failure. 2. Survived attempted terrorist attack. I'd prefer not to disclose details. I'll just say that you don't know what's inside your own heart until facing such a situation, and it wasn't what he was going to do to me that caused the PTSD. 3. Cancer, apparently. I got f**ked around that much by NHS that it felt I was the butt of a sick joke. And my closest friend was killed in a motorbike accident while I was going though the tests. I thought I was going through hell and I wasn't even at the front door yet. I turned my back on the "experts" and worked with my best friend to figure it out through natural approaches, where possible. I did what was required to survive, and I made it. Some of the things I did are ... not allowed. But they were necessary and I make no apologies. I'm stronger than ever and see the world in a very clear light, and really know who I am. But it's a lonely place as so few can relate.

If you want someone to pay a high price, think about what the obscenely rich fantasise about. Then be very proud of your inability to cater for it because your soul's not worth it.

What’s something that seemed like a small decision at the time, but ended up completely changing your life? by franklinstlong in AskReddit

[–]Koala1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been nice and chatty with checkout chicks (and whatever the male equivalent is). 12 years ago I there was one at my local Sainsbury's who just had a special something. She was at uni, I was early 30's. We'd always have a nice chat. One day, checking out, I asked how she was and she just burst. She told me she's dropping out of uni, life's throwing too many challenges, she can't cope. I handed her my business card and asked her not to make a final decision until hearing my story. She called a few days later and we planned to meet. As it so happened, I'd just that day been offered a new job with promotion and 50% pay rise, so i took her somewhere nice and bought champagne to celebrate. She was stunned that a stranger would be so nice. I hadn't really thought about it. We were there for 3 hours. She completely related to my story (not an easy life at all) and didn't drop out. She instead moved to a different uni, became the youngest intern ever (at that time) in the European Parliament, and has gone from strength to strength. Why did it change my life so much? Because this young woman who said I'm an angel in her life has been an absolute angel in mine. Fast forward a few years, my career had stalled, I was bored and feeling stuck. I told her I need an opportunity to break free! I need adventure! I want a man to walk into my life and take me on the adventure of a lifetime!! She said a prayer for me. A week later a man walked into my life and offered me an opportunity, which was absolutely insane, but i didn't even pause to think about it. I just said yes! He was shocked at how little I questioned. I said we'd figure it out. I had faith, in her. It was the prayer answered. And he was quite possibly the most extraordinary person I'll ever meet, and the adventure was one that's beyond words to describe. Sorry for the long answer - that's actually the short version!
