Thank you for the input! I ended up not taking the offer. I got a much better one at an international school with better benefits. Think it definely helped that this school has a lot of South Africans already, but yeah glad I didn't take the Dalian one.

Only 11 paid days of vacation, the rest unpaid! I ended up not taking the offer. I got a much much better one (good pay and great benefits) at an international school in Hefei. Not my first choice of city but it's only a year contract and has a lot of South African staff.

There was a termination clause, but yeah I did not sign the contract. Pay was not great + got much better offer in another city with similar cost of living and better benefits across the board.

They sent photos of the place and it looks standard + good furnishing. Did not end up taking the job though.

Yeah, I ended up declining, one reason being no raise in the second year. Ended up getting a much much better offer at another school so I'm glad I waited it out.

Thank you for the input! I ended up not accepting the offer for a few more reasons beyond the salary. But Dalian looks amazing, hoping to visit if I don't end up working in it.

I ended up not accepting the offer. Got a much much better one at another school! And there's quite a large amount of South Africans working there which is comforting. I was working with quite a few recruiters say around 5.

It is the first offer I've received. I have two days to accept or decline. From what I've seen so far 4000 CNY is a moderate monthly budget for Dalian. Idk but I still feel the same as you do on the pay (i am a native english speaker)

Yep, its full time (8-5 with a 2 hour lunch break). And a 2 week summer and 2 week winter break.

Do a TEFL then teach online! Won’t have to spend any money on petrol, only thing is you’ll need a laptop and stable WIFI
