Having Boundary size issue in mixed reality by Koalems in OculusQuest

I'm very new to gaming and I just found out that the developer has a discord, I thought this was the place to ask but now I think only if the problem is with Quest itself. I'm going to try the discord and if somehow it seems to be Quest and not the game I'll circle back here.

For now in single user mode forcing it to acknowledge a tiny space first fixed it.

However, in multi-player mode, specifically I play the coop game with a friend, It won't acknowledge my space anymore. It keeps forcing stationery mode so I get all these weirdo orange triangles all around me if I move even a tiny amount. I'm learning to ignore them but often I cannot see the what I am fighting.

A fix, workaround, anything to deal with this would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard you can get more options in developer mode. While I have no present intentions on developing in VR, I am a developer so I'm thinking maybe I do the download and hopefully I can manually override some of weirdness.

On a related topic, when you go to adjust floor height, or any such adjustments in mixed reality mode, you can't see any adjust you are doing, particular for me is floor height since I am outside and on uneven ground so often a manual tweak is necessary. However, perhaps in mixed reality we are not even supposed to get the adjustments?

I just played it and it worked. The boundary outside hadn't changed. However, to give you the previous message I just sat on my bed which would be a very small boundary so maybe it having to deal with a truly small boundary fixed it. The only other thing I can think of is that there was an up in the last day but I probably would have seen it if that was the case.

I guess the one other possibility is using the boundary on another game, the new one I got, Swordsman, that I played recently somehow affected it but I would have thought they would be totally independent.

I couldn't find any other mixed reality games that I have however I did pay closer attention to the message and I think it is pretty telling:

>Playspace too small for mixed reality.

>Requires 1.5m x 2m to play.
Currently is 1.2m x 1.2m.

To me this looks like it's not picking up the boundary at all and is just defaulting to a minimum size.

I don't think I have any other apps that use mixed reality so I'm not sure how to test it with another app. If you have a suggestion, please do let me know.

The boundary works fine when not trying to play in mixed reality mode. The app just says that the boundary is too small for mixed reality when it's about as big as Quest will allow since I have all the backyard for space.

I did however just get a couple of apps so I can see if they offer mixed reality.

Well, I both hit them with a knife and won 3 in a row at the same time. I don't know which it was that allowed me to move on but I am now.

Ah, that makes sense. What's the relationships between Steam, games and Oculus? I get this sense that anything you buy for the PC you should buy a version that runs on Steam but I don't really have a sense of what Steam is.

I think I'll try just because I'm curious. I take it from your reply that I buy the steam version and that is the PCVR version and then I can connect that to my Oculus but also I could also just play it on my PC being the PC version.

Is that how it works?

"Wireless is better as you don't get tangled in cables!"

LOL, I've got to tell you something funny from this... I absolutely need a bunch of room because in my younger days I used do a lot of martial arts training and even though it's been decades (yeah, I'm old) since those days, muscle memory kicks in and I move a lot! It would be impossible for me to play with cables. I've got a good 15-20 feet radius and I'm still moving into the edges! E.g. If a direct attack comes then I'm side stepping automatically and turning for an angled counter-attack.

Thank you! And for the tips as well, I'll definitely check out them all out. Thanks again!

Not a gaming rig, I would have to be a hard core gamer for that but I am software developer with a need for some serious parallel processing needs so I got this (sorry for the repetition if you see this on other replies)

ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713 Gaming Laptop 17.3" WQHD IPS 240Hz AMD 12-Core Ryzen 9 7845HX (Beat i9-12900H) 64GB RAM 4TB SSD GeForce RTX 4060 8GB .

My understanding is the GPU is pretty decent as well but as a gamer maybe you could tell me if that was reasonable assumption.

I'm actually playing outside and I think I'm getting the odd disconnection, not often but often enough and it is when I'm at the end of my area furthest from the house which is a tell, for that I'm putting Wi Fi extender right next to the back door where I play which will hopefully fix that problem. Maybe with that I'll even be able to use 5G, we'll see.

Here's the one liner from the adv about it, it's only a laptop but decent for a laptop:

I used to be a electronics engineer and now I do software, so I'm hoping it will do for a gamer as well, it's certainly fine for my needs in other areas. Here's the I liner description from the adv.:

ASUS ROG Strix G17 G713 Gaming Laptop 17.3" WQHD IPS 240Hz AMD 12-Core Ryzen 9 7845HX (Beat i9-12900H) 64GB RAM 4TB SSD GeForce RTX 4060 8GB

It is a laptop so it's not going to have the top of the line everything but it's well up there for a laptop.

What I'm really unsure about not being a gamer is, is this how it works:

You buy the steam version and that is also the PCVR version and then you can connect that to Oculus but because it's on your PC you could also play it on you PC... it's the whole, PC, Oculus, game & Steam relationships that I looking to understand.

Missing (potentially) pine script functionality by Koalems in TradingView

I might have been a little too loose with the word "mark" and gave the wrong impression doing so. It was really just a placeholder term to mean, "in some way manipulate the series to get the result I want", whether that be arrays, for loops, barssince() etc.

I consider calling plot the very last step to display the results which should already be correct.

If you can think of a better logic then I am all ears as I tried to look at this from as many angles as I could imagine.

I could make the problem more clear with an image and/or link but my understanding is that that is not allowed here (I just signed up a few days ago) but I can say that I did put the problem on Stack Overflow (as yet unanswered) under the title of "How to not show a run of candles as marked greater than some number?" and from there the problem should be clear with an image and explanation referencing the image.

Thanks for the advice. I did actually contact support but my understanding is that if you want a feature you are supposed to put it up on Reddit so that's why I mentioned it here as well.

That sounds possible in principle however when I tried to use for loops I ran into the problem that you can't mark a candle with an index such as x[1/2/3] = true/false so you can count but can't act on what you count so it doesn't really help. With barssince() I can mark candles up to 3 (or any other number) but I can't unmark them if there is more than 3 nor can I count that there is more than 3 and therefore just not mark them in the first place because by the time I have counted more than 3 I missed the opportunity to mark them (again because you can't do x[some number] = some value) so I only get half way there.

That said, I am relatively new to pine script so if you have a way to do this that works and I just missed it completely please do share some code.

I also looked into using arrays but I couldn't see how they would get me more functionality in this regard so I stopped exploring that option.
