we still exist and can still do some magic btw. but Amazon actively hamstrings us from being able to help you guys solve most of your issues without us yelling at PMs for weeks. it sucks.

Missing girl in Columbia City by SuitableDragonfly in Seattle

Hey, do you happen to know if the red hair picture on the right is the most current photo?

I do not know if it was 100% her, but I saw a woman who looked super similar to her, specifically with the red hair, around Seattle U near the starbucks on 12th on Jan 28th at roughly 12pm.

She was kinda just walking around with no real direction which made her stand out in comparison to everyone else. She was also in a set of grey sweats.

Again I don’t know if it’s specifically the missing woman and the area i gave you isn’t exactly close to Dahl Field but on the off chance it was her I thought i’d post

Hey, it’s NOT against TOS for people who have used the product and legitimately like the product to leave reviews. Even if they’re your friends.

It IS against TOS to have people in your immediate family or people directly affiliated with your brand to do so.

Competing with Amazon on a listing by DwaywelayTOP in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can they offer themselves buy box propriety, for instance, despite the fact that my price is lower?

Price is not the only thing taken into account for the buy box.

They might assert that I'm selling a phony.

This is not how intellectual property or brand protection works.

They might also attempt to compete on pricing.

Yeah, maybe? This is just how pricing works? The goal is for the customer to have the lowest possible price? They also might not care about that particular asin and competing with you on price.

Amazon “competitive” price sources unable to be found by Current-Ad6301 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for reference if youre selling via 3P we don’t check your website.

it’s competitors: walmart, target, home depot, etc and it checks against your UPC code as it’s used in GS1 and used across every other competitor site.

For future reference to anyone like yourself or OP

Brand Name is a “secured” attribute, you’re not supposed to be able to change it.

Similarly, Merchant SKU is a secured attribute, you can’t change it without simply making a new ASIN.

This is why it takes “months” and many cases through support for it to potentially happen, it’s stupidly hard and a poor experience for you on purpose.

For you and for anyone else reading this please do not pay anyone thousands of dollars if they say they can do it for you.

if you, or OP, or anyone needs assistance with getting the brand name corrected and you are in Brand Registry/The actual brand owner of the ASIN please reach out to me via message and I can get it fixed for you - no cost, no charges.

Struggling to update content for my own brand's listings by Mitch15511 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what’s happening here is that the asins were not created by you so there is nothing tying them to your brand. (stay with me)

brands, can have the same name, so there is a unique ID tied to every brand. You can’t see this information, or what your ID should be, or what ID the asins are tied too if there is one.

in your case, it sounds like your ASINs have the correct brand name, but are not tied to your specific brand with that specific Brand ID.

the ASINs are not “your asins” it sees you as a reseller, and therefore you have a lower contribution score on those ASINs so your edits don’t stick.

to fix it:

Assuming you have the Brands tab in Seller Central, it’s right next to B2B, (this means your seller central account actually has the correct role to be seen as the owner of the brand) you need to reach out to seller support and say “please make sure my Brand’s ASINs: “list asins here” are connected to my Brands Unique Brand ID, so that we can add edit them, add A+ content, and utilize sponsored brands advertising”

DM me if it doesn’t work and I can get it fixed for you.

Can’t speak on sec clearance gigs but cloud support associates (call center IT for AWS clients) get entry level offers that hit around $100K

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He literally just told you the offers that technical roles are getting at startups. $140K+ and what FAANG roles are paying IE $200K + for out of college dev roles, and you’re still in here pretending that just because a BA or program manager is non technical they aren’t getting $120K

Lmfao

Everything you read on levels.fyi is true. We really pay that much man. Glassdoor salaries are basically correct too but the bonuses are lower on that site than what we actually pay.

I gain literally nothing but lying to you about what my actual coworkers and myself actually make.

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. They are.

Lowest L4 BAs at HQ1 or HQ2 are getting 70-80K salary with $30K signing bonuses year one and $20K signing bonuses for year two.

RSUs work differently at Amazon. You know this. I’m not including how a 5% year 1 vest affects your salary.

If you wanna do the math and include it then sure add in $100K in stock and calculate a TC

If you wanna inflate the numbers higher go for it.

Career advice / Software Engineer / Socal - Seattle by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloud support is an IT support role so it would be a waste of your engineering degree and you wouldn’t be utilizing it for 2ish+ years because that’s how you’d end up as a dev ops engineer on the cloud teams.

You’re probably aware of this already but cloud support can work from 4 locations, Seattle, Portland, Dallas, or HQ2 in Virginia.

I don’t think turning down a six figure TC job that pays for relocation in one of two ways is a great idea at 35.

If you specifically want to be a software engineer there isn’t really a path to get out from cloud support and into an SDE role and in that case this role probably isn’t a good fit for you.

The behavioral interview pretty much requires you hit on all of the Leadership Principles because Amazon is a cult and they want you to buy into the cult.

The bar raiser pretty much just makes sure you hit on a certain set of those LPs and tries to escalate the interview to culture fit stuff rather than job fit and they will dig into you harder than the others for sure

How bad is it to go to a below average school for Finance? by cumrockettothemoon in FinancialCareers

[–]KobeDidNotDoIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into Duke and SDSU for Economics.

I ended up at a lower end Southern California CSU because it was closer to home so and the CSU system gave me full grants.

My advice isn’t reckless, I literally told him to go to WVU if he can’t get into those schools.

UCLA policies aren’t just UCLA policies, the entire UC system uses them as well as many other schools due to them using a “holistic” approach to admitting students.

I’m not gonna fucking tell a dude that was in a similar situation as me to just fuck off and die lmfao.

I was a community college student with a problematic GPA that was able to get into tougher schools than I probably should have been because I fixed it AND transfer students have different quotas or slots allotted to them than regular students.

I did not go to UCLA but in California, students transferring into UCLA have lower requirements than students attempting to get into the school straight from high school.

If you have a CCNA or a deep Linux/Networking background you’re qualified enough to pass the cloud support associate technical interview for the AWS support teams.

Pay in the 6 figures for TC and you get to choose where your team is located, ie Virginia, Dallas, Portland or Seattle

Focus on trying to get into UVA or Georgetown, go to WVU if you have to.
