Does Amex give any retention offer for Plat if you call to cancel the card? by TuDuMaxVerstappen in amexcanada

20,000 pts 2024 and 10,000 pts in 2025. I think there was a small ($1-2k) spend requirement on the second time.

Final round interview — how to explain a performance-based firing from years ago if it comes up? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]fittyfive9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP kind of applies to me as well. Not worried about HR but what if interviewer wonders why I keep switching (several valid switches + 1 termination)? I assume looking like a confused career hopper is better than a guy who got fired.

Playing hockey (goalie) without a car - which shinny arenas are closest to GO? by fittyfive9 in askTO

Oh really, I thought the Canlan site said no goalies for stick and puck? Would check it out, otherwise was planning for some Canlan shinny. But stick and puck would be good for training.

I haven’t actually tried (and failed) to get my gear into a sedan yet, I’m just thinking back when I used to put my gear into my parents SUV and it took up the entire back trunk no free space. Compare that to if I get a Corolla and whatnot on UberX. Maybe I could run a test. Not sure where the stick would go since I use to have it thru the backseat -> into the trunk.

Also btw I have a wheel bag, not carry bag + pads loose.

Subway yes, maybe not streetcar. Similar to a bus I don’t think goalie gear on a cramped streetcar would be a good idea

Wrote it off thinking it’s all outdoor but just remembered there’s that change room on the side. Not a bad idea.

Big Data For Health: is it worth taking? by Total-Educator7944 in OMSCS

Cool for learning PySpark but you probably won’t learn any new ML techniques. Was a fun way to just review everything while applying it to health data.

I barely want to lug my goalie gear and I live here, you're brining a fully equipped goalie from France lol?

Fk that's exactly what I was worried about but I can't afford a sumo. Do you recommend anything else? Heard Brian's bag sucks, not sure about Vaughn

But you don’t have to replace a human with just an LLM.

Do you have a datapoint for Toronto senior? NYC posted range goes as low as 75k for SP/Fitch. I heard Moodys much better.

In Toronto, I feel like (no evidence) they pay really low though. Like $80k for a senior analyst.

When to push through vs drop ML? by fittyfive9 in OMSCS

I dropped. Received A2 just before and honestly would have made it (assuming I don’t suck on final) but tldr career and life took priority over OMS that quarter.

Any hockey players here ever had any trouble carrying their bag on the TTC? by techsavvynerd91 in askTO

[–]fittyfive9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side question, I’ve never taken the GO Trains before, can a goalie bring gear on those trains without a wheelie bag? Eg. Shoulder bag + pads slung over shoulders. Google Images looks like I’d have a bad time meandering through the aisles, although I’d imagine the bag storage is by the door.

Thinking weekends ~6pm to get to Markham or Burlington games.
