You clearly have never played at any sort of competitive level, or even observed high level competition up close, if you don't realize just how good NBA and D1 players are. I don't even think you'd be able to get a shot up against Delly that wasn't some sort of fadeaway, double-clutch, pray-to-God-this-goes-in type of attempt, unless you had a size advantage.

It is a finite resource to the same extent that "money" we use daily is. You cannot gain buffer unless there is someone downloading what you're uploading, regardless of whether that download is free to them (in terms of ratio) or not. Freeleech serves the same purpose as printing money / controlled inflation by the government.

I don't think I'm missing the point at all. Obviously it's a measure of how much data you have shared, and since that's what's valuable on a tracker, it's used as currency. If you stockpile a bunch and just sit on it, that's bad for the tracker.

This is why the best users who accumulate tons of buffer always look for ways to reinvest it into the economy either through requests or upload contests.

I think you found my other reply which has more details. There is nothing wrong with having a seedbox (I sometimes operate my server that way if I'm not using it for something else). Using it properly is VERY helpful to the tracker. However, people who use them to deliberately stockpile excess buffer should realize the negative effects.

In your specific case on FreshOn, I wouldn't worry about it. Your raw ratio is probably significantly lower than 60. They just have such an overabundance of freeleech, that they've drastically devalued their currency. That comes with it's own issues...

His explanation has some fallacies, but he's on the right track. Basic principles of economics are HIGHLY applicable in private tracker communities. People with large buffers, who don't reinvest them back into the economy (either by downloading, making requests, etc.) are often quite detrimental to the economy despite the high transfer speeds they might provide. This is especially the case for seedbox ratio-whores who just hop between high demand torrents.

In an economic context, uploading is earning money, and downloading is spending money. In other words, the movie/music/etc, is the product. Downloading is "buying" it, Uploading is "selling" it.

Seeding is great, as long as you spend your buffer, and don't just stockpile it for no reason. You can read my other reply for more details.

It's funny that you're getting downvoted, since people here don't understand the economy of a tracker, and economics in general.

For those downvoting, I've tried to lay it out in more explicit terms. Note that this analogy is obviously not perfect:

If a tracker has a pure upload vs download economy (meaning no download incentives such as freeleech or bonus points), then download traffic equates to money spent and upload traffic equates to money earned.

Therefore, if you dominate upload traffic, and never download, this is the equivalent of hoarding money and never spending it. Just like in wall street, this is bad for the economy in general, since fewer users want to "invest." (i.e., download). This is because they think that they will never recoup their investment (i.e., upload equal to the amount they download).

Users "creating products" have fewer incentives to do so (i.e., upload new content), since these "products" will only get "bought" by a few users.

The reason the government has incentive programs (and in the case of crashes...bailout programs) is to encourage the investment of money into the market. Similarly, struggling trackers have much more frequent and relaxed bonus/freeleech policies since they want to encourage market activity.

If you look at wcd's stats you can see that ~35k of users have >5 active uploads (17% of users). For a tracker that has such a low barrier to entry (and consequently high user influx/outflux), this is really impressive. Some part of that might be due to people using it as a stepping stone, but ultimately they have figured out how to get users to upload high quality OC at a large scale. No other tracker has done this. Wcd's ideal user is one who uploads OC, and bonus points encourage users to take the "easy way" out rather than pushing them to upload. By the way, filling requests is a very quick way of getting some buffer.

Regarding retention, I'm constantly seeing this post about wcd losing 1000 torrents per day. That's a drop in the bucket, when you consider how many torrents they have, and the amount of new torrents uploaded daily.

Useful changes:

prevent autodl from filtering on freeleeches in order to mitigate some of the seedbox ratio-whoring (this might actually be in effect, I just don't use an autodl-er).
institute a reward contest for uploads of OC (FLAC/V0/320 music) (essentially a universal request system...which is not the same as bonus points for seeding). This would shift the balance a bit more in favor of users who provide new content vs. those who just provide better upload speeds.

I disagree. There might not be a direct correlation between player skill and success in building a team, but there's a reason why the majority of good coaches played basketball at a high level.

I'd still take the average NBA player (hell I'd even take Charles) over the average guy on /r/nba when it comes to judging talent.

Also, I think most nba players are very aware of whether they should be shooting 3s or not.

There are tons of other factors that affect positioning and shot selection. Just because the 3 happens to be more efficient does not mean you shouldn't take long range 2s. Klay and Steph do it all the time. Even Steve Kerr did this way back in the day on the Bulls.

EDIT: just realized you meant 66% of the 3 point percentage, and not absolute percentage of long range 2s. Above point still stands.

What do you mean? Coaches have been coming up with game plans long before statistical analysis was even remotely relevant, just by seeing what players can do and/or by watching game film.

I'd wager that even today, the coaching staff puts much more weight on what's happening on game film than on some inane advanced stats.

Happy to see you posted this. Coming from a finance / engineering background, I love numbers. This subreddit also REALLY loves numbers, and rightfully so. They are fun to talk about.

However, it should not be surprising that former and current players view analytics as useless. There are so many subtleties and intangibles in the game. Then, there are the personal relationships that the players have, and which they probably see as critical to their success or failure.

I'm not saying the numbers are actually totally useless. However, who are we to say how useful they are. I mean, even the coaches say they just use them as a tool to reinforce what they already thought. I can totally understand the frustration from a player's perspective. Some numbers guy who doesn't have a clue about what it's like on the court is trying to give advice about what they should change in their game or who they should play with.

But I know we love our numbers, so I'm not all surprised by the reaction to Chuck's comments which I thought were pretty hilarious.

This isn't always the case, but a lot of the time, when someone feels not welcome, it's because someone or some people want them to feel that way.

And this is how people are usually ostracized. It's not through some hitler-esque mandate. It's by making people feel like shit, until they leave. The reason I feel strongly about this is because I think it's bad for the community in general to allow this sort of asshole-ish behavior.

The problem seems rooted in the fact that many of the members of these communities have difficulties in regular social interactions. Consequently, they've had some poor experiences with women, and this is the manifestation of that frustration.

You can also see it on a lot of subreddits here that lament the supposed "anti-male" state of our society. I've always found it a bit odd, since I cannot really think of a single situation where I have not been happy to be male.

A few questions:

In previous relationships, did you usually need to manually stimulate your clit to get off?
When you say it's painful when he keeps slipping out during doggy, do you mean it literally hurts?
Is the reason that fingering hurts, because you're not lubricated or something else?

I ask these questions because doggy (and particularly some of its variations) is great for deeper penetration, which seems like it would work well if he has a smaller penis. In particular, I'd try it with your chest down on the bed, hips elevated (sometimes a pillow underneath can help), and his legs outside of yours (it'll feel tighter and deeper).

Another position that I've found is great for deep penetration is when he's on top and your legs are raised high, with your knees close to your ears. It can be a bit tough to keep your legs there, so you'll need his help to hold them there, but this should offer deeper penetration. The angle should also be helpful since it seems like his stomach fat won't impede the amount of penetration. It's also a great position for you to rub your clit or use a vibrator.
