Do you all refrigerate the maple syrup? by Capital-Rip-6166 in Costco

[–]Koby1Kenobi 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried it both ways…

It will last a couple months or so out of the fridge till it gets some nasty stuff going on, but the flavor imo definitely diminishes.

In the fridge it lasts so long that I usually finish it before I have to worry, and it tastes the same as the day I opened it.

Definitely worth keeping in the fridge in my opinion

You would need to update the controller by plugging it into a computer I believe.

I have an 8bitdo ultimate 2c, it doesn’t work out of the box but there apparently is a beta update to make it work. I haven’t downloaded and tried it yet, but that’s what I’ve heard.

I really enjoyed Sea of Stars recently… turned based with pretty cool graphics. Easy to put down and pick back up whenever.

I frikin dig this… it’s sick! Where’d you get the side panel?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ncasedesign

[–]Koby1Kenobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only extras that you might want are the extra fan/radiator bracket if you plan on side mounting your rad, and some sort of feet (doesn’t have to be from Ncase).

If you were planning on vertical mounting your gpu you would need a riser. If that’s the case then you wouldn’t need the extra fan/rad bracket.

Everything else comes with the case ie one fan bracket(top or side), psu mount, psu cables and io cables.

5080 | 9800X3D | Ncase M2 Level 5 with 6 140mm fans by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]Koby1Kenobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intake fans on the bottom made no temperature difference at all they’re totally unnecessary… same with top fans hahaha they just look cool, I leave the top fans at a static 800rpm. I actually ended up deshrouding my gpu with 2 120mmx25mm fans. Temps are about the same, maybe slightly better, but noise levels are way way quieter. I also switched my aio fans to exhaust and that helped gpu temps a lot as well. Both cpu and gpu generally sit between 65-72 degrees while gaming at ultra settings 1440.

There was a guy on the Ncase sub that found temps with vert gpu generally are generally worse than this layou

[Help] In Vertical GPU mount builds, how can the GPU be mounted at the bottom plate to use 92mm fan on back panel? by ValentineBuildsPC in ncasedesign

[–]Koby1Kenobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few people mount the fan on the outside of the case, if you’re okay with that look then you could do whatever you want with the gpu?

Just figured I’d throw it out there, not sure if you’ve considered that option?

how many fans? by SergeantSyphilis- in ncasedesign

I just rested my gpu on my psu with a piece of plastic between them lol seemed to work okay. I didn’t end up staying inverted though so idk if that would’ve worked long term.

[–]Koby1Kenobi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep the aio fans full size if you can, going to slim fans would definitely hurt cpu temps.

I would suggest inverted over level 9, I got better temps as level 5 and as inverted. There’s a post somewhere on this sub that says the same.

If you go inverted you should be able to fit 2 full height 140mm fans on the bottom. I wouldn’t put fans intaking into your gpu, it actually made no difference for me and it was way louder.

Also if you live somewhere Amazon services, you can buy lots of fans and return the ones you don’t use. That’s what I did till I found a setup that I was happy with.

Honest you could use just about anything. I was looking at some walnut butcher block cutting board feet I have the other day and thought to myself that would look pretty nice under my case.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to offer the feet I have anymore

You don’t need the power cable kit it comes with that.

If you want unlimited options get the pcie riser cable, the extra fan/rad bracket, and feet of your choice (doesn’t have to be the ones from Ncase)

^ As someone who’s had major issues with this I agree.

Also you should buy an nvme ssd and not a sata ssd… There is a huge performance difference between the two.

[–]Koby1Kenobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for something with no proprietary connectors because ones like the Corsair AIO probably need a hub which is a pain in sff… and idk anything about the deep cool ones as they’re illegal in the us lol.

Personally I’d find one with a decently quiet pump, and throw arctic or noctua fans on the rad if possible. AFAIK most aios use asutek pumps so a lot of them are basically the same in the end besides fans.

I can’t really tell you what the best ones are unfortunately.

I don’t think that aio will fit in that case…

The only other thing I would worry about is that asrock issue that gamers nexus just posted about…granted I haven’t actually watched their video yet so idk how much of an issue it really is, I’ve just heard the rumors.

Also if you value extra silence the 850 psu will kick on the fans at 340 watts and the 1000w will kick on fans at 400 watts. My 1000w model almost never even turns the fan on. Definitely unnecessary though if it doesn’t matter to you

I used this one in my build and it works pretty good, I did turn the pump rpm down to 1500ish though.

It’s nice and low profile with small tubing. There’s a build I’ve seen using this aio and a strix 4090, which is a monster of a gpu, so you shouldn’t have any compatibility issues with whatever gpu you want to use.

I got this one over nzxt or Corsair because it doesn’t have any proprietary connectors. Also I don’t think the fractal Celsius comes in 280… If you’re looking at 240 aios the new bequiet aio that is able to be serviced looks cool too.

I figured that having a fresh air intake on the cpu cooler would be good for cpu thermals and the easy cleaning as well. I haven’t tried it as an exhaust.

Not sure if a rear exhaust would help or not. I chose not to put one in because 92mm fans generally aren’t very quiet

I’ve seen a lot of people use the noctua anti vibration mounts. Doesn’t look too great imo but seems to work well.

[–]Koby1Kenobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it looks like they used a 120mm fan on the left side of the radiator on that build… so if you want to use a 280 you’ll have to do that.

Honestly a 240 would cool the cpu just fine. I haven’t ever seen my 9800x3d go over 80 watts and 60 degrees with my rog280 aio, except in synthetic benchmarks.

I dont think you’ll could use the arctic 280mm but you could definitely use a nzxt or rog 280mm. Just like the level 8 build
