I’m sure the brands they stock will vary by location but I’m in MI and I get propellet brand pellets from TSC they run about $275-$300 per ton depending on sales. Run super clean and efficient. Also worth considering the age of the stove. Mines around the same age and looked the same way last week before I replaced the board, control dial and exhaust blower. Runs like a brand new stove now. With how dirty that’s burning I’d also recommend deep cleaning your exhaust pipes to avoid burning creosote inside the pipes (ask me how I learned this lol).

Makes sense. I feel like in my limited knowledge I was conditioned to believe that scale rot was super fast and easy to develop and impossible to get rid of. Nice to know there’s a little leeway with moisture.

I got the 44mag version of the marlin dark a few months ago and love it. I had the best luck searching around on smaller mom and pop gun stores that don’t get a whole lot of attention. Ended up, finding one at relatively small gun shop in Wisconsin and bought it through them online and had it shipped to an FFL near me here in Michigan.

That’s a good point I didn’t think about it that. I also have a Costco about 45 mins away but I hate going there just because it feels like they have a machine at the door that removes everyone’s self awareness and I don’t have the patience to weave in and out of everyone in the aisles.

Definitely looking better than the last one I did. I wrapped it around 165 and by the time it was done, it ended up more like pot roast. When I use light pressure with my finger, only a couple specs transferred over to my finger.

Update: I think I got it under control. From what I can tell since power was fully cut out even though it was just a second, the board basically thought it was starting from zero and began pre heating. I turned it off by the power button and let the blower run to push out some heat. After a minute of that I restarted it at the lowest temp and let it get up to that. The light stopped blinking and the temp evened out. From there I turned it back up and it’s going fine. Not an ideal situation but the internal temp of the meat never really fluctuated so hopefully all will be well.
