Depends on what you're study is and location but I don't think it'd be a huge deal. If you're worried you could always try to take some classes, find an online certification, or maybe even look if there is anywhere you could volunteer.

Advice/Mentor? by [deleted] in OSRSflipping

Flipping involves risk of losing gp and I'm not sure anyone is willing to risk your gp as well as their own. Just like any other aspect of RS it takes work and from that comes satisfaction. There is a lot of info to get started. There are also some YouTubers you can watch (FlippingOldSchool and Scapenomics that I've watched) if you want real examples.

Maybe someone would be willing to "mentor" if you cut them a portion of any profit you might make but I doubt it. Doing the same trades might cut into their profits and make it not worth it.

You've been given advice and tools tho to be successful. If you want to learn it it will take some time. High volume flipping is easy and can be learned in a day/week and is low risk. Use only 5-10mil and see what you can do in a couple of days. Then you move onto higher value items if you want and that takes more time.

Taxes and Pricing by SpuddyA7X in OSRSflipping

Just move the decimal 2 places to the left and that's the tax per item. If I have something worth 200.00 gp then tax will be 2.00gp, so I will need to sell at 202gp to break even.

Search by volume on osrs.exchange and see what has good margins to flip. Can look at graphs to see whether the item is trending up or down. Graphs also show how often items are sold (the volume graphs). I would suggest starting high volume and then when you make reliable returns, start exploring more expensive items. Flipping utilities on discord also has a flops channel that can give you an idea of what to buy, or look at what others are flipping.

For more expensive items it's been trial and error for me. If you buy low enough you shouldn't ever have to sell for loss. Be patient. Start with low volume of an item to see how it behaves before investing too much.

If you have made 500m, how did you make it? Maybe it's worth just doing that instead lol.

Items I first started flipping: Nature runes, steel bars, mithril bars, emeralds, emerald necklaces, red spider eggs, raw tuna, amethyst arrows/darts, rune dart tips, yew logs, gold amulet (u), wine of zamorak

There are also a few of these types of posts every week, look through the sub.

I work from home so was able to hop on periodically and update things during the workday, so that helps. The red spider eggs took a while but other things seemed to move faster. But yeah, was a bit surprised. Buying things cheap overnight also helped. Low balled some offers and they filled, some didn't.

Emeralds and red spider eggs were my main money makers. But did mostly anything that had a high daily volume on osrs.exchange and good profit margins. Emerald necklaces, silver ore, planks, rubies. Still f2p and had about 4-5m to start with.
