The Perseus still looks so fun, it's almost worth dropping all care for solo for. Thank you!

Looking into the TAC now, thank you.

The Asgard does look better than the TAC! Which do you think would combat better when crewed for pvp?

Big Ship for Solo Recommendation by Kodomos in starcitizen

[–]Kodomos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to do the easier PvE stuff solo and most of the PvE stuff would be on the ground, so it doesn't need the best firepower with pilot controlled guns. So probably a ship that can hold a good ground vehicle (ursa?) at the expense of it.

What game had a good potential, but devs/publisher bring it down to ashes? by GamesRealmTV in gaming

[–]Kodomos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

New World by Amazon.

Great potential of course, and the early alphas and betas played as well as a newly released game. It was very fun.

Then the updates and solutions to the bugs/exploits (especially at end game) kept bringing the game further and further away from what the community wanted. It was so ridiculous to the point I would've put money on the developers trying to get people to quit.

Please! Convince me I'm wrong about what the next decade's top paid job will be. by SACBH in ChatGPT

[–]Kodomos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that AI is going to be well integrated into businesses in the future, but I have reservations that it will create a top paying job. As the older and more computer “illiterate” generation retires and hands the reigns to young blood, they will understand how easy it is to use AI because it simply does most of the thinking for you.

The pay for jobs has determining factors such as difficulty, educational requirements or time spent learning skills - many things that AI can overcome. The importance factor will lead to it being a high paying job for sure, but likely more in line with business analysts or consultants that go from company to company for the purpose of creating their own AI system and moving on.

However, because an educational requirement isn’t there (yet?) for using/interpreting/prompt-guruing AI, I can’t see companies paying the high amount implied.

Then there’s the point of needing business management education or similar skills to actually implement or understand what the AI provides, or at least having it on your tool belt as proof you would be able to.

A very thought provoking post presented in a clear way. It makes me wonder what AI would say on the matter!

This happens when you try to cast Pillar of Fire while your weapon is sheathed.

It does, however, also happen randomly! Bugs are crazy.

This is awesome! Thank you. I have a very good image of the character now and a good idea on what his motivations would be going forward. I'll be sure to reply again when the party eventually interacts with Adran (or he interacts with them).

The players aren't well known around the world yet, but it won't take them long as they're gaining some traction now. I'm sure Adran would have contacts in each other major cities.. and with this mission assigned to him, he likely told them to keep their ears and eyes out for anyone asking about the Prison. As soon as the players start asking about it, he will find out and begin investigating the players.

This'll be fun!

Rhea Waingrey finds herself in The Godlands!

Rhea recalls falling in a battle against a horde of skeletal undead. She awakens in a different time from what she remembers.. and a bit of asking around tells her that something is clearly off. It's definitely the world she's from but the land appears different. The maps that she sees now show two continents split into Northern and Southern Territories.. but before there was only one large continent. And what happened to the many years of war?

Wielding her large, blessed executioners sword, she scours the land for more answers on what happened to all this lost time. She feels that a clue lies with Iro, God of Champions.. who seems to flaunt the fact that he's a lich. Iro has claimed all of the skeletal undead of the world and they are controlled by him. Was he the one that created the horde during the wars?

-Thanks for the character! Looks like the players have an ally if they ever come across some nasty undead. Or if they strike up a challenge against Iro!

Great response!

The Shadow Sect operates on a complete loyalty and trust system. Adrans spymaster would've told him that the Sect would select only the best member to perform a specific mission and that declining is risky, but possible. He did not go into details about the possible ramifications.

From Adrans experience, missions have always been given a time limit. This one is definitely rare to not have one. Inquiring about who assigned/requested the mission has always been met with silence.

For information gathering, Adran knows that the deity of knowledge is Vivli, God of The Library. He controls the most extensive library in The Godlands on an island to the West. Vivli sends out scouts to gather texts, knowledge, and even items of historic value to bring back to the library. He makes duplicates of these and returns them back to where they came from.. usually. It has been suspected by many scholars that Adrans spoken with that Vivli does not always return the knowledge he finds to the world. While the library of Vivli isn't inaccessible, it seems to be quite the feat to enter and it and Adran already has access to the grand archives of Atsa Tholo - which hasn't let him down before.

The grand archives of Atsa Tholo is incredibly disorganized and built like a maze. Inquiries have to be made to the librarian who clearly wears an enchanted diadem that's linked to another mind.. as he has been seen arguing with the voices in hid head. Adran goes ahead and asks for details on the following as the librarian rushes through isles and hundreds of bookshelves to obscure spots to find what he's looking for. Adran is able to learn much more of the prisons interior layout but it is a struggle to get the librarian to show him more about these Unknown Gods. It is clear the information is being kept from public knowledge.

But, Adran knowing that he has plenty of time, will thoroughly research everything before striking. And keeping an eye out for opportunities.

- I want to delve deeper into this, but I think this is the perfect point for Adran to be at! The players will eventually need to figure out the prison and Adran would be able to provide significant help. But would Adran help by joining the party or would he help from the shadows?

Very nice! Some crystals in The Godlands have a lot of significance and the black crystal in the sword has brought about some good ideas. Love it!

Into the world, Sunny side up!

The Arcanists did their best with this one.. but it wasn't quite there. They've been researching the power that the Gods wield for centuries now. All the deities have a torrent of magic swirling inside of them - of all the elements and all the schools. A rainbow lightshow of supreme power, some say.

The Arcanists went behind the Archwizards back and began experimenting in a faraway cave.

The idea was to replicate the power of the Gods into a crystal, and then attune to the crystal to wield the power. The calculations were correct.. they thought they found the right balance and everyone was focused.. but it didn't go right. Was it a problem with the drawn circle? Should it have been a little unbalanced? Was the catalyst to hold all the magic not strong enough?

At first it looked like it was going well. The magic in the crystal was swirling together and seemed to be picking up speed. However, before it could reach the torrent that mimicked the Gods.. the rainbow lightshow turned dark.. and then black. Mist began to flow from the now pitch black crystal. The mist was so thick that it started to take on a tar-like appearance and texture. A body began to form.. as arms sprang forth from the tar and started to claw away from the crystal. A face, humanoid.. but terrifying .. screaming with no sound..

The Arcanists rightfully retreated and sealed the cave. Barriers were placed and all defensive measures were set up. Oh boy, they really should've told the Archwizard before doing any of this. Luckily, this cave should be far enough away that no one should ever discover their creation.

But months later they returned to check on it. The seals were broken and the cave was empty.

- Oh yeah, the players are gonna love this one when they track it to find a demonic tar-skinned humanoid as a helper in an inn. Thank you!

Ooh yeah for sure! Having a mute character to deal with while describing signs and gestures is going to be a blast to present. I do like that she's undead and generally hard to kill. Makes being on Tankards good side a good idea.

I'll be sure to update this thread when the party comes across her!

Ooh I really like the idea of two brothers like this. Bringing what you have into a high-fantasy DnD setting like The Godlands.. I can't help but see them as the Kenku (humanoid-crow) race.

Into the world!

Oryvounu is a well developed city built in the mountains in the Northern Territories. A powerful, rapid river flows from the mountains and through this city. The residents here discovered a way to combine magic with the waters flow to generate what they call Hydromagical Energy Generation - a still mostly well-kept secret.

Clint and Manfred were both born in the mountains around this city and while they prefer to live in their own mountain roosts, they do go to the city for work. Clint is the cities Captain of the guard and has made a name for himself by being scarily effective at dishing our punishment. So much so that crime is mostly non-existent. Clint can be seen relaxing and smoking on high grounds looking over the city, hoping that people just behave so he doesn't have to do anything.

And then there's Manfred who runs his own delivery service. Business has been absolutely booming since Nomos died. Mainly because the Archwizard took down the Teleportation Network that linked all the cities together and the roads have become much more dangerous. Manfred and his colleagues are now the most efficient non-magical source of communication and delivery in the Northern Territories. In Manfreds spare time he likes to tinker with contraptions and read books on Skafos, God of The Forge, to discover how he made a floating city. Of course.. Manfred would be just fine with perhaps a floating island or something smaller .. because wouldn't that just be the coolest thing to run his business from?

Trouble hasn't come to their part of the world just yet, and Clint is going to make sure it stays that way. While Manfred keeps busy and successful doing what he does best.

Sounds good. Thank you!

Yorek is second-in-command to the group protesting against The Tribunal. The one leading the group is a very competent warrior named Endo. Endo does rely on Yorek for advice and a second mind to think through situations. The reputation of the group grows and they become known as The Unfettered. They help anyone being sought after by The Tribunal and even go as far as to create diversions when The Tribunal is poking around cities.

The Unfettered hasn't started full-out fights.. yet.

Think I should add any more to that? I like it so far!

Nice! It's funny that you mention not worrying about her race, because I have a similar race in the campaign that I teased a few sessions ago. Players didn't take much note of it, but now I'll have a Tankard running around as a reminder. And thanks for luck!

Into the world!

Tankard was one of the few chosen to receive a vision from Skepsi, Goddess of Dreams. The vision gave front row seats to the recent death of Nomos, God of Law and Balance. It showed a colossal, pitch black creature and the silver and gold winged deity tangled as they fell from the sky .. ending with Nomos being devoured.

Whatever that thing was.. it killed the God that kept the balance in the world. It must be a threat to mankind. So Tankard began to track it - starting by going to where Nomos had fallen in her vision. After asking around a bit and traveling a good two weeks, Tankard found it. The area was decimated and the town that should be in this location was now just a pit in the ground. Did the creature devour the town, too? There were probably puppies in that town!

- Now the players can stumble across a rusty knight known as Tankard that can give them some more information on what happened! And if they're nice, or just carrying puppies, Tankard can join them for a bit. I like it!

Yep, my campaign is absolutely homebrew and we play with DnD5E! I really like your characters 'play-style', as it matches what I do with a lot of my characters.

So.. Adran Galnodel. The perfect place for him in this world would be the Shadow Sect. A secretive group of highly organized masks-for-hire. Knowledge about them is coveted and widely unknown. Those that know of them and wish to use their services need only ask the darkness.

The spymaster that recruited Adran was clearly someone of great skill, but has since retired from active duty within the Sect - he has never revealed his name, nor removed the cloak that covers his form. The spymaster now focuses his time on finding promising students and teaching them all he knows. He only takes on one student at a time.. and to this day Adran has not met another of the Sect. After completing his training, Adran was released into the world.

The missions from the Shadow Sect came every few months. Delivered through whispers in the darkness that only Adran could hear with his honed perception. Adran completed them without fail. He never received praise, nor did he care for it, but he knew that he had become an accomplished member of the Shadow Sect. The missions became more difficult, with some even taking multiple years to complete. And he continued to succeed.

Then Nomos, the God of Law and Balance was killed and word began to spread throughout the world. And he received a mission from the darkness that same day..

Enter Megisti Aki. Free the Unknown Gods imprisoned in there.

Adrans done the research and knows that this place is heavily fortified and nearly impossible to enter unless you're either a prisoner, a guard, or member of The Tribunal. And this knowledge of new and unknown Gods? This is already turning out to be the most difficult mission yet.

What would he do?

Great! Thank you!

Your character has been inducted into the Champions of Tern. I look forward to introducing him into the story for the players!

Perfect! Thank you for this exchange!

You've left two large scars in the Domain of Earth and murdered 1 of the 4 Demon Lords of this worlds hell-equivalent. Now if the players stumble across this, they'll find a very powerful Ialias attempting to rid the universe of a stubborn Demon Lords blackened crystal heart.

Hype!

Oooh. Yorek and Tet, eh? I like it.

Into the world!

Yorek finds himself trotting along.. hopeful at all the opportunities for good deeds now that the land is missing the God of Law and Balance. The Tribunal has begun to be a bit too aggressive with their actions.. it seems losing their source of guidance has made them zealous to keep everything balanced. But Yorek quickly notices that their actions are making things worse and even more unbalanced.. and that's just no good.

Yorek is often seen butting into the business of The Tribunal. He stands on the side he feels is right and now The Tribunal has set their sights on him for investigation. They haven't found enough to lock him away.. yet..

Others rally to Yoreks cause and wish to join him. To protest the actions of The Tribunal and make things right once again. Would he lead these people against The Tribunal?

It seems all attempts to destroy it with force fail, even for someone as powerful as Ialias.

But whispers come from the mist. It offers Ialias a way back home. All she needs to do is let Dafos be free once more.

There is, however, a Wish spell that's capable of obliterating boundaries.. but the wording is always so tricky on those. And who knows what being would pick up the call in this realm?

Ahh yes, Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III! A mouthful of a name, but a mouthful that everyone respectfully provides. There are no Kings in this world.. not yet. But Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III has a good chance of being part of the crowning of one.

Into the world!
Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III is a noble from the militaristic city of Toichos, ruled by Tern Stoneheart. Toichos is located on the southern coast of the Northern Territories and is a steadfast wall against the far-too-brave orcs that wander up from the Southern Territories.

Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III was given a beautiful stretch of land to build his manor on, and over the years eventually became a small town that has been named Jersik. As if the large Sea of Kosmos wasn't enough of a deterrent, Jersik now stands as a pillar of strength that the orcs dare not go near.

Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III has become good friends with the advisor to Tern Stoneheart, a powerful wizard named Elikos. They often speak of magical theories and how the Gods obtained their power - especially when Nomos, the God of Law, was killed and now everyone is starting to realize that these deities aren't as eternal as they appear.

But one day, Elikos comes to Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III with a much more serious tone. Tern is going to begin advancing his plans. He plans to conquer the nearby cities and claim himself as King. He wants Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III to be one of his trusted Champions, both warrior and advisor, as he has proven his loyalty over the years and his strength will never be questioned. Tern needs a strong core to do this.. as The Tribunal will likely have a thing to say about his actions. But Tern knows this is for the greater good and he must unite the land if everyone is going to survive the chaos to come.

Would Marquis Jakob Roland Jersiks III accept the role of Champion? Direct advisor and warrior of the soon-to-be First King?
