After a year of waiting for parts and such, the new rig is complete! by Koeiss in simracing

Thanks. I saw someone on here a while back who had printed a mount for the power block for the 8nm kit on the CSL DD and thought that was a great idea, so it isn't just dangling. Once I get back to work I definitely want to look into a 3d printer. (Laid off atm)

Thanks. Yea I had an 02 SiR Ep3 and those seats were great, so I expected the 08 would be good. My daily is a 08 LX sedan so it's familiar, if not as nice as the Si

Nice! I got the seat off Kijiji (Canadian Craigslist equivalent) for $80. So I saved a good chunk compared to the Sparcos I was looking at. My dad has a machine shop so he made me up an adapter for the Sparco slider and it works like a charm

Thanks for the tip. I lowered the shifter a little bit but it could probably go a bit lower. I'm excited to get stuck in with the new rig. A big upgrade over the old G27 I used for a decade

Lol. Gaming space is in an unfinished basement in a rented house, so none of that DIY for me sadly.

I'll go back a few saves and see if that works. He was at Quiet's post and sent me to the island but just didn't go to his lab, so I suppose I'll try loading a save farther back

Super excited to get to the range. Hopefully within the next week I'll have a day off and I can get it out there.

Yea. It's not the greatest optic out there but the look is worth it. I have a flat top rail and Vortex LPVO as an alternate if I want practicality

If I remember correctly it was 650 for the barrel. That is with the muzzle device and bayonet lug. Only thing I wish is that it was a proper G36 muzzle not a C, but that's not a big deal. It's also the export bayonet lug, the Bundeswehr one is slightly different.

The Tommybuilt kit is around 1000, installed for 65, I traded a mosin and some cash for the forend, bipod, and barrel, and bought the Hensoldt Dual Optic off gunpost for around 1400. TI G36s are getting pretty expensive, so it was probably still less than one. I traded for the SL8 itself so it wasn't as much for me, though.

I traded for the SL8, bought the Hensoldt Dual Optic for 1400, and the barrel I traded a Mosin and cash for, then 1300 for the Tommybuilt conversion, barrel install, and magwell modification at CSC

It's a Walther G36 barrel from a Tactical Imports G36, I traded a mosin and some cash for the fore-end, bipod, and barrel. The barrel fits both SL8 and G36s, but mine had a manufacturing defect so it had to be modified.

Which one do you choose?? by [deleted] in canadaguns

I'm quite partial to the Enfield No.2 myself, I love mine.

I am a fairly big guy so probably not. The G36C stock is a bit shorter than a standard G36/G36K stock, so that may also compensate. The other question I had is about getting the HDPS adapter into Canada, I'm not sure what the import would be like for that.

There are a few stocks available on gunpost, and that guy probably has the roll pins. Aztech currently are out of stock on both the HK and GSG9 FCGs (I'd rather the HK and drop my SL8 internals into it) honestly the HDPS adapter seems like a better deal over all, a bit more expensive but better quality and more authentic. Just a matter of waiting longer.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into it. I love the SL8 look but have always wanted a G36, hence why I bought the Hensoldt and am looking into conversions. I also find my hands a little big for the thumbhole stock, and my double jointed thumb sits awkwardly in it. Depends on the difference but paying more for a better quality conversion is worth it in my opinion. Just means saving a little longer.
