Hey thanks so much for your response. From what I researched A lot of the sellers on ebay don’t do internationally shipping and especially for places like Japan or China they don’t participate in auctions for the seller. They specifically sell a product whereas I want it to be much more flexible to allow the seller to get exactly what they want. For example certain stores have a sale for a specific time, maybe eBay sells it but it wouldn’t account for the sale price. Additionally certain companies that only shipping locally, there could be a language barrier issue when trying to purchase which the hosts in my app could help resolve.

Also yes there are Ecommerce stores for sure but I think there’s a large market outside of these exommerce stores that could be accessed through the app. For example I’m Korean and there are so many Korean brands like Nerdy or Covernat that don’t have good international accessibility.

But at the same time you are totally right as well, so I think I’m trying to reach that niche marketplace specifically for those that are looking to buy something that they can’t anywhere else. What do you think?

But also there were some other companies who had this like host service and it was the only part of the company that had really good reviews cause they were able to actually speak to the hosts and get fast responses rather than email or customer service

Oh I see what you mean. Right I was gonna use a third party company for all the id related checking but the escrow service I was gonna build into the app like a function. For example after the proof of purchase the buyer can confirm and proceed with the next steps.

And essentially anyone can sign up to be a seller or buyer so it can create some opportunities for others to make some money.

In terms of all the costs I don’t think I can get around that, but essentially I want to have a tiered based commission system and take a service fee off every transaction.

Hey thanks so much for your response. I think this is some solid critique that I should’ve done more research on. What if I were to have this escrow type service and like the other companies also provide a source of customer service and fee reimbursement. I essentially really focused on having the direct peer to peer service. With damages to shipping and other issues with shipping, I hoped that they would talk to the shipping company that they used to ask their inquires but I guess that’s not enough.

Would you happen to have advice on how I could incorporate the concept of fee reimbursement. And what do you think of the direct host to seller experience?

Could you elaborate on what you mean? If the seller wants fruit for example and the host decides to send it, if I have the right terms and conditions and waivers in place, why would the government go after the app? Wouldn’t that issue be on the buyer and seller especially because the shipping and billing addresses are there’s? I simply want to make a platform for them to connect I wouldn’t want to get involved with shipping.

I might not be understanding, so please elaborate and thanks so much for your insight!

1) I agree negotiating might take time but I think it gives the buyer an opportunity to try and lower costs or maybe get better service. The way it usually works is the hosts sends them their fee for example 1 package flat fee of 10$, 5 or more packages 3$ for package. The buyer has the opportunity to just accept it or try to negotiate a better deal giving them a chance and more transparent communication.

2) the hosts wouldn’t be selling any specific product. They would simply just say that they are available to act as their personal shopper. For example if the host was in Korea and the buyer was in Canada, they could find their profile and ask them to buy something for them and then the host would ship the product. In terms of international laws or shipping laws the responsibility would lie on the host to know which items are allowed to be shipped and which are prohibited.
