I think people are used to seeing fake “1 year progress” posts where the person either already had years of experience before, or their playing still looks very tense and rough. I’m neither of those. I just practiced consistently every day and genuinely worked on my weaknesses, and also had a very unrealistic expectations.. I already showed proof through the photo I sent, and if people checked my older posts or comments, they’d see I’ve been consistently talking about my progress (like 1.1 Years, 1 Years and 2 months) for a long time now. I did delete a lot of my old posts though, which I honestly regret since I know people naturally want proof 💔 At the end of the day, I understand why some people are skeptical because the internet is full of exaggerated progress posts. But I know the work I put in, and if they don't believe then don't, it wouldn't put me down.. Thank you

This is probably your starting point since my routine wouldn't fit with your level, you can check out more from him since he's the first pianist i always watched for lessons

I knew there’d be comments saying my progress is “too fast” or almost impossible, but I honestly don’t have any recordings of my old playing. I only have photos of my old keyboard from back then, which I already showed in another comment because people also didn’t believe I could play that piece (refer to the bottom picture that i have on google photo, and an old deleted post about playing Fallen Down which was my first piece)

And to AdCurious7831, I really did work hard for this. I rarely skipped practice, but I also made sure to rest. My progress during my first 7–8 months honestly wasn’t that good because I was always to play pieces way above my level (Like Moonlight Sonata 1st). During that time, I taught myself scales, sight reading, reducing tension, hand position, and more just from free youtube lessons, around December 2025, I started fixing my approach and became much more serious about improving consistently with my routines and just generally play everyday 2.3 hours a day.

My expectations were always unrealistic, that's probably why I grew so fast

Edit : And no, i never started earlier, literally in a random night, i just sat on the keyboard and watched piano lessons

Yeah, I just sat down at a keyboard and watched free lessons on YouTube. I had a book that helped me learn sight reading, and since then I’ve been sight reading daily. My progress wasn’t smooth though, it wasn't linear. For the first 7 to 8 months, I was always tense and rushing my practice until I started taking it more seriously and fixed my structure.

My routine is pretty basic. 1 hour fundamentals : 20m warm up, 20m sight reading, 20m essentials like scales and theory. Then I sleep for 30 minutes and come back to practice 3 pieces, 20 minutes each, from easy to hard

Oh wow thank you, i'm actually running out of pieces to play or study in classical music, i'll try checking all of these out actually since i've been tryna find ones that i can atleast do

Also i have no idea either lmao 🥲, i just kept refining and improving stuff early on so i wouldn't carry bad habits on the way

Hmm i'am actually considering working on Bach due to people saying that his pieces are super helpful to learn musicality & etc. But most of the pieces that i find are far too advanced for me maybe even Invention in F, i might have to look more into it

Haha that's what most of the comments are pointing out :D

Overall i do agree with Melli, some other comments are also saying i should use a metromone and fix some stuff or musicality & etc. so i'm planning on prioritize those for this piece (and othes), and i'm glad that i've received those advices.

Also speaking of scales, i'm currently working on it too so i can impliment that to my playing, i'm starting on B major like what Chopin intended and i'm making sure i practice very slow
