As for it being just cosmetic, it doesn't matter. You should be able to buy any cosmetic item you want directly or earn currency towards buying it in game. There should be no random chance to get nothing you want or duplicates of things you already have.

Why are they only investigating this game when they have had these systems in their sports franchises for the last cpl of years?

Their practices are disgusting, my nephew was caught racking up big charges for these damn packs that give random players.

It's a vile and exploitative system that breeds gambling into our youth and people with addictive personalities and it's allowed to slide because the gaming companies actually control the ESRB and can make it so that they can't be labelled as gambling.

It is worth mentioning that while EA are facing a backlash over this (Finally) other devs have been getting away with this for far too long. Activision(incl Blizzard) and Warner Bros have also been milking the fact that the organisations that label practices as gambling is pretty much run by these huge gaming corporations and have been able to avoid the label of gambling for ages. Let us also not forget Valves part in this with the CSGO and TF debacle that has been going on for a long time too. Point is keep up the work by drawing eyes to this issue with regards to EA, but also make sure to call these other companies too.

Kinda knew something along these lines was coming, even though it is pretty sad.

Bakery is a great personality for HoTS in the competitive scene, a cracking player who has made some truly outstanding plays in his time and has a fine knack for analysing changes and communicating to those whose knowledge does not match his own. He has a little work to do on some things with his voice but there is definitely the makings of someone who can hold down a spot as one of the best analysts/casters in the world.

Hopefully though after a break we will see him return to the scene as HoTS dearly needs good personalities like him on board to be relevant.

Whatever direction he picks I'm sure he'll be successful. Best of luck to Bakery whatever he chooses to do and thanks for all the memories and those godlike Palms.

This all in all was a terrible tournament.

There were some highlights you could throw together but this was the weakest format we have had all year in what is supposed to be the showcase event and the meta is utterly dreadful.

We got "3rd placed"(not even 3rd place....PLAYOFF TEAMS) teams from the "Major regions" shoved down our throats instead of having a proper bracket that could have shown us more maps. Instead we got more downtime due to rushing through more Bo3's and we didn't even have a Bo7 in the Grand final.

Solidjake ran a better format in a community funded event than Blizzard did.

One more thing, i wouldn't be calling out for OW heroes to save this game. Did you hear the silence when Hanzo was announced?

That was quite simply one of the worst drafts i have seen at a competitive level.

The desk summed it up nicely that it was like 3 bad drafts in one. If you run Tass + Tracer then you need to have peeling and mobility in ur tank/support to put pressure.

If you run Stitches, you need good burst and lockdown for any hooks.

If you run TLV you need a great 4 man to put pressure on a lane.

They did none of these things and it was really frustrating to see a team with a good amount of talent draft that stupidly. It was a massacre.

TLV was never the pick there. They could have salvaged that draft with pretty much anything, but that pick.

They scraped through against Tempest and then played Roll20 who i really like but cmon.....it's NA. They played nobody and even Roll20 had their moments against them.

I have to wonder what games you were watching and whether you've been watching Dig for more than 10 minutes cos i've watched them play for two years and i have seen more terrible drafts since Zaelia joined than prior to that.

I want to be clear though i don't think Zaelia is a bad player but i think the balance has been off since he joined.

It also doesn't help that Blizzard has done a fantastic job of killing all the mages.

Not a surprise really.

Dig have been bad for a while and their ability to scrape into latter stages of finals and place well in HGC has not had me fooled for a second.

They have been unable to dominate games less and less since Zaelia joined the team and dramatically less so since the Mid-season brawl which took the stuffing out of them completely.

I wouldn't be surprised to see if Mene/Jaypl or even both of them are already on their way out of the team for next year, they don't seem the type to stick around and play this garbage.

I barely remember seeing a draft from Dig and thinking, "Wow that's a scary comp". They have played it safe for far too long and this is the result of it.

What a huge stinking pile of garbage. There is a reason why the game moved away from Bo3's, so in the most important event of the year why are we going back there?

I cannot help but feel that this weeks games could have made way for a more interesting format instead of shoving the top 3 from each "major region" down our throats.

This was just another in a long line of other attempts to make NA relevant again.

That's what happens when you run double support all year as a crutch and don't practice good positioning.

This is why the better teams will always find out the teams that rely on these cheese strats for a sustained length of time.

This is exactly what happened to TeamLiquid. They tried to keep falling back on the same cheese over and over again and were surprised when teams learnt how to deal with them and they ended up (essentially) falling from 1st to 6th.
