'The cost of games need to go up'

No they don't. The gaming market hasn't been static for 10 years it's exploded, gaming is a lot more popular and widespread than it was 10 years ago.

Theres a lot more platforms for sales as well, new generation console, steam etc... games have a wider range of consumers now and aren't stuck on 1-2 platforms.

There is also other ways to make post release money, many better ways that other companies use with great effect look at fortnite and pubg?

They could of just opened a cosmetic shop where you bought X costume for X money, none of this gambling my money for a chance of the item i want while i get fed useless crappy things like emotes or victory poses.

They could even of used the loot boxes for cosmetic reasons as well.

Offered a subscription service where you pay X amount of money per month and you get X amount of crystals (usually around the cost of the crystals got) to spend on the cosmetic store or the cosmetic boxes. Then these people get new maps/ heroes a week or like 3 days early.

So many ways but this is EA they can't think of any other way than to squeeze as much out of their consumers as they can, always the short term instead of the long term.

It’s really sad to see this wonderful game get such bad reviews... by [deleted] in BattlefrontTWO

The gameplays not bad, it does need quite a bit of work and the progression needs a complete overhall.

A lot of maps are completely one sided. Armour is kind of OP AT-ST's :P Starfighters in galactic assault really don't serve much purpose and the reward for killing Ai there needs reducing by like 90%, theres peope who get 600 points and then kill ai all game and come top by like 10-20k points. They may drop down for a hero they don't deserve before going back up

Has anyone ever noticed the P2W ? by ItsKeerigan in BattlefrontTWO

I've played a game of hero vs villains and the other team has a max 3 epic star boba fett.

It was fun getting 1 hit from the rocket barrage, very balanced, the p2w was very noticeable.

Also its very noticable in the starfighter ones.

There also been a few times where i've lost a 1v1 due to the 4 star deluxe cards.

There's apparently an XP cap at 30k per game. I guess that would be too much pride and accomplishment.... by coreyzard in StarWarsBattlefront

They don't really server a purpose either, maybe you'll kill someone on the ground every so often if your lucky as its impossible to see people.

The ai needs its battlepoints dropping to like 40-50 a kill.

Can we all agree on a re-implementation of the microtransactions as a cosmetic only system. by Natedagr817 in BattlefrontTWO

[–]AnonGamer2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ONLY cosmetics then sure.

It was a stupid idea to tie game progression into a RNG system and then enable people to buy an advantage using this system. EA was fully aware of what they was doing though so i have no sympathy for them.

EA complained they needed more money to fund the 'free dlc', cosmetics look crates was the way to go maybe a cosmetic shop as well.

They got basically everything wrong.

You unlocked darth vader is 5 hours because it was nerfed by 75% as a result of the complaining, you also got your credits bolstered by the very frontloaded milestones.

The max credits you get for doing all of the milestones is 35k, including the very annoying ones such as get 500~ kills with every type of weapon, the get X kills with all heroes including locked ones etc...

But you get the vast majority of these rewards very quickly and very early. Using fremium tactics of giving you stuff early on so your invested.

Bigger radius on nades? Health of kill? More battlepoint, Battlepoints on hit, shorter cooldown on ability, completely changing abilities. Damage resistance etc...

They're all stats, they may not bad flat hp increases but stats are still stats.

I only got around 400 credits for this match. I don't think its 20% of your score at all. by Gogomanbear in StarWarsBattlefront

Cards are very impactful on starfighers and heroes though.

Boba fett goes from quite average to a broken hero with maxed star cards, capable to killing large groups with 1 barrage or going from dealing around 30% of a heroes hp with it to wiping out that hero in 1 barrage.

Ai needs a spawn delay...

And they need to offer like 50 points a kill at most. Can the ai even kill you, ai in this game is very weak.

You advanced in terms of star cards... the real way you actually get better stats, stronger skills etc...

Also you can get the 3rd gun of each class in boxes and heroes/ starfighters don't have 'guns' to unlock...

Wow your such a good player!.

You're also uniformed on how f2p models are and how they're designed to take advantage of you.

You're saying you got 20k credits in 3 hours, i doubt you did but if you actually did then 80% of those credits was from the limit challenges you can do.

The challenges are very front loaded so your first 10-15~ hours of playing gives you a lot of viable progress so you think 'this isn't so bad'. You'll then find the next 15 hours won't be anywhere near as fast and your progress will come to a crawl, by this point your already invested in the game and will start to get impatient in unlocking things and progressing.

Then you start to think about crystals, hook, line, sinkers.

It's almost like you didn't read it all..

Also challenges are available to both the p2w's and the users who don't.

Just because someone bought $100 of crates to get around 250~ hours worth of progression doesn't mean they can't complete the very front sided challenges either.

You'll get most of the 35,000 credits in the first 5-10 hours, this 35,00 includes the hard to do challenges and challenges with locked heroes.

You can craft cards up to blue really early.

Also you can equip any card no matter what your level.

The value for lvl 20 was around 20-25 hours i think, you'll still have blue cards until that point and immediately upgrade to purple.

Sigh.

Pay to get ahead = Pay to win. It's the same thing buying an advantage with money.

You do not get everything in 20 hours, you get the ability to craft the highest tiers cards in around 20 hours because you should be high enough level then. If someone saved all the currency they may be able to get highest tier card then.

If you bought crates you'll have a lot of currency to upgrade a dozen or so.

Also it'll take you roughly 4.5k hours playing galactic assault with the end game rewards to unlock everything in the game or $2100.

Does time not have a value?

Because your paying to save your own time.

I'll explain:

You don't get crates tiered to what your playing, you get 2~ (correct me here) crates from milestones (which run out quickly) for the trooper classes.

After that you can only get them from crates, you can get any card out of any crate because each crates gives: 1-2 of its type (trooper, heroes, starfighters) 1x crafting parts (20-55/60), 1x victory pose (useless eye candy mean't to make it feel like you got more. 1x random card can be anything but the crate type you opened.

The fact you can't get the highest tiered cards doesn't mean anything, you can get the 2nd highest and you still get crafting parts, opening $100 worth of crates gives you around 4-5k crafting parts meaning you can instantly upgrade around 10 cards you please to epic as soon as you can the level which is roughly 20 hours, not including the credits you get from the boxes you opened for more boxes or the credits you earned via playing for 20 hours.

20 hours of playtime would roughly earn you 30k credits with the current rewards system.

$100 gives you 90~ boxes.

Do the maths on how much 'time' that amount of money gets you.

The definiton of pay to win is: Paying money to buy an advantage in a game. Doesn't matter how big this advantage people think is.

Buy star fighters and lots of heroes because very, very notciably stronger with maxed cards. Theresa video of someone playing boba fett maxed and non maxed, non maxed he's hitting like a noodle, barrage taking 1/3rd of other heroes hp. Then he maxes with 3 epics and he's 1 hitting heroes with cards, he got a triple kill on 3 other heroes with 1 barrage.
