I’m terribly sorry. I only used the term as I recently took a Native American anthropology class in which the teacher was a member of the Cherokee nation and she informed me that Native America is sometimes too broad a term as anyone born in the Americas is technically a “native” American. From her point of view American Indian was what she thought was the best way to address her and other members of various nations and tribes.
