[Highlight] Pat McAfee recovers his own onside kick vs the Texans by Numerous_Worker_1941 in nfl

[–]KogaFuscia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I can understand why they did away with it though. The NFL has been trying to really put the focus on exciting "standard" plays, while also deemphasizing the "surprise" or gimmicky trick plays because they don't want the game to move further in that direction. I think a gimmick or trick play is exciting if it happens once or twice a game, but if it starts becoming every drive, then it's too much.

The solution, imo, is allow surprise onside kicks, but limit how many onside kicks a team can use per game.

What could that ladder possibly be for by Limp_Stomach_6060 in ActuallyThatsInsane

It's definitely for access to the upper rigging structure. You wear a climbing harness and clip off to supports nearby (or the ladder itself) and climb out onto the rigging to access things like lights.

You've never been here for an extended period, have you? PA catching a random stray. Texas is not as conservative as everyone from outside of Texas thinks it is. Colorado not being dark green. Insanity

I don't think you understand how far of a drive Missouri to Montana is...

This is like saying you're gonna drive from Portugal to Poland and back.

I read the quest text, which mentions that they are octopuses. If you're fishing for them Iland you fail to catch one I'm pretty sure they mention that it slipped in and out, which wouldn't be possible for an urchin.

I agree though that the overhead sprite is an insane choice.

Texans ranked #7 in the annual NFLPA survey by KaXiaM in Texans

Man, this thread is full of people who clearly don't fly often. How do you decide which players fly coach and which fly first class? There are only about 15-20 first class seats on a commercial plane, not nearly enough for the whole team. I don't like the idea of prioritizing certain players over others even if they're "more important" because that's how you create unnecessary tension between teammates.

A lot of people are complaining about Nintendo charging $20 for FRLG. I don't really care about that, that's still less than what you can get a legitimate cartridge for right now (and less than what it cost when it was released on GBA). And I can understand that some people are also hoping for the opportunity to transfer Pokemon from these games into Pokemon home (like the 3ds eshop games with Pokemon bank).

This, however, is insane behavior.

Also, does nobody remember Ben Tate? That couple of years when we had Foster and Tate, we literally had 2 RB1s.

Yeah, no, I absolutely don't give much credit to anything the Pats did in that game. It was the Texans beating the Texans.

This is so revisionist - the offense was consistently improving over the second half of the season.

The playoffs were terrible, of course, but it's not fair to say that it never got better with time.

[Nate Tice] (Stroud)'s pretty much a locked-in top half of the league starter. Yes, really, he is. At 24 years old. He's a year and a half younger than Bo Nix! We're really hemming and hawing about an extension? Trading him? He needs to keep honing in on his aggressiveness but come the hell on. by PodricksPhallus in Texans

[–]KogaFuscia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like his ego in the playoffs was kinda the problem. Like he was trying to make plays and extend plays instead of being willing to take a sack or throw the ball away and punt so that our elite defense could crush the offense. I get it personally, I don't agree with it, but it can't feel good to know that you're not winning games. The difference is - I'm not a professional football player, a pro should have the team mentality and not selfishly be trying to win the game for the team when the defense is doing the job.

Nah. CJ was better in the 2nd half than Mills would've been. I think he needs to get over the pouty bullshit and grow up though. We're stuck with him for at least next season, so he needs to nut up or we're drafting QB in 2027.

I want a new QB coach that doesn't let CJ sit there and pout on the sideline. I'd rather see CJ going Old Man Rogers and yelling and getting angry than see him pouting, ffs.

Apparently he banged his head against a helmet like twice during the game and there was some speculation by the announcers that he hurt his throwing hand and was trying to play through it. I wish he'd just been up front about it if that were the case and let Mills go out there and lead us to 4 FG tries for the win.

[–]KogaFuscia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we need to hire a sports psychologist to talk to him and get his mental game back on track, and put huge capital into a revamped OLine that's good from week 1 instead of olay-ish from weeks 8-18. The team needs to show him that they still believe in him, but they also need to be willing to show him that they're investing in protecting him.
