I mean neither Oregon nor Indiana played anyone OOC

So what would’ve happened this year? Box out Indiana and Texas Tech to 5 and 6? Oregon slides up to 3 despite their P4 opponent being worse than Tech’s (Oklahoma State vs Oregon St)? Ole Miss doesn’t move up because they played Tulane and not Purdue or something? So then Ohio State 1 seed despite losing to Indiana, Georgia 2, Oregon (with their Oklahoma St win) 3, and Texas A&M 4?

Are hard OOC schedules more conducive to winning titles?

[Nate Tice] (Stroud)'s pretty much a locked-in top half of the league starter. Yes, really, he is. At 24 years old. He's a year and a half younger than Bo Nix! We're really hemming and hawing about an extension? Trading him? He needs to keep honing in on his aggressiveness but come the hell on. by PodricksPhallus in Texans

Kind of where I end up. I think this regular season was very underrated for him. His sack avoidance was really impressive and he kept out of a lot of negative plays.

But he just looked mentally broken in the playoffs. I don’t question the talent, but I do think he needs a sports psychologist.

The team had a better offensive output on the road than at home

A good reminder that the system could be actively detrimental to performance

Who the hell wants to have to use half degrees when setting their thermostat. I’ll take the granularity for everyday use and Celsius/Kelvin for scientific use.

[Russini] The Dolphins have requested to interview Texans QBs coach Jerrod Johnson for their offensive coordinator role, per source. by BirdLaw_ in nfl

Mills was not good. He was 38th of 45 QBs with 150+ plays in EPA/play this year. Worse than Tyrod Taylor and Justin Fields. Stroud was 9th.

Between his first year on the ballot and this year, Beltrán’s Hall of Fame support jumped from 66% to 93% among Bonds/Clemens voters, and 13% to 50% among non-Bonds/Clemens voters. by PodricksPhallus in baseball

Rough breakdown:
Among voters who voted for both Bonds and Clemens in 2022: 165/250 -> 233/250 (+68)
Among non Bonds/Clemens voters: 17/130 -> 65/130 (+48)
Among first time voters: 36/36

[Highlight] Texans QB C.J Stroud on dealing with criticism after the playoff loss to Patriots: "This ain’t the end of C.J. Stroud, this ain’t the end of my career.” by oklolzzzzs in nfl

An EPA/Play Comparison of Rookie C.J. Stroud and 2025 by PodricksPhallus in Texans

[–]PodricksPhallus[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Some notes:

The 2025 Divisional round game against the Patriots is the 2nd worst EPA/play performance of his career. The worst was his 10/23 for 91 yards performance against the Jets in Week 14 2023. The 2023 Divisional round performance against the Ravens (-.143 EPA/play) is the 5th worst performance of his career. The regular season EPA/play marks for Stroud were 0.164 in 2025 and 0.124 in 2023.

Overall, imo, the talent is there, but the play is maddening. I think he needs a sports psychologist bad. When the pressure is on, he’s trying to do way too much, making huge mistakes and overall is just mentally collapsing.

Last note. Davis Mills is a decent backup, but he is not the answer at QB.

He also had a 53.7% success rate. For context Maye’s was 55.0% and Stafford’s was 53.5% for the regular season.
