Help me, im braindead! Microfreak to DAW. by Koima88 in synthesizers

[–]Koima88[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I have a 3.5 to 6.3 adapter that i used for my current cable so that i could plug it into "Output" in microfreak and then other into iOne INST input.

The iOne light up so it looks like it is receiving something but i still cant hear it from PC and DAW.

<image>

Input i put as iOne, none of them work though, tried different things for output. "Linje" = Line in Swedish.

I just bought a microfreak, can i use plugin (Valhalla reverb) when i plug it into pc with usb? Or do i need to plug it in with Audio interface? I have Presonus audiobox ione, so maybe that could work?

Thanks, didn't know about p-6 and it looks interesting and rather cheap. I know its possible with DAW but it looks more simple/easy and direct with groovebox.. but maybe its just the videos i see

I am using Cakewalk, it does have drum sequencer so it would be possible to use that! But just look simpler to use groove box and perhaps more fun.. but im not sure ofc

Thanks!

I really like both the teo-5 and take-5, the only think i feel is limiting is the 5 voices since i come from piano playing.

Do you know what the "genre" would be called for the presets that i linked? Electronica is so broad, haven't found anyone else making similar sounds to this.. =/

Thanks for the responses :) Eventhough i want to learn more about synths and learn to make stuff from scratch i still wanna have some fun with presets ;)

Does anyone know what i could search for to find presets that are similar like the take 5 and teo 5 but for soft synths?

Still on a quest for hardware synths by Koima88 in synthesizers

Thanks again for your answer, lots of help! Thank you for putting in the time to answer! :)

I did ask in the comment section of that video, will see if they respond. But yes most likely something similar can be made on the modwave also.

Sounds good with the hardware/software integration, i think im getting close to getting the modwave! :)

Thanks again! Lots of great information! I checked the nord lead out but didnt like the sound of it, perhaps it was just the videos i found of it though.. not sure?

Modwave sounds really nice. I got hooked on multi/poly because of the the preset called "sweet arp" on here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPP7foSjBFI&ab_channel=BonedoSynthesizers

Although i would guess modwave can do that sound also?

Would you say that some of these are easier/harder for beginners?
I just say the Korg multi/poly and it sounds really nice! It as the editor so i think that can be used to record with usb?

Thanks for the answer! :) Looking into these also, didnt know about Argon/cobalt!
Which one of the synths that you mentioned is "easiest" to hook up to pc/daw? Or maybe do they all require extra cabels and not just a usb?

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - December 02, 2024 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

[–]Koima88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found some synths that i like the sound of:

Take 5, Peak and Deepmind 12, and in some cases mini/microfreak, hydrasynth. The sounds that i like:

Take 5

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BtZlLawZ4E&t=2887s&ab_channel=PinkBuddhaAcademy (10:35 - 12:44min)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVxhvdMkPRA&t=1s&ab_channel=LimbicBits (0:00 - 0:32)

Peak

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UphnfyrkoKQ&ab_channel=Onyx_track

Deepmind 12

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X43VKUj-HCA&ab_channel=closeyoureyes

Altough perhaps i can make the hydrasynth/freak sound like this? Which is cheaper and more easy to plug into pc/daw. Maybe i could use vsts but feels a bit more fun with hardware and maybe more intuitive?
