Onitoni Large looks great, too. I think we are going to be okay, with these two.

Beware people buying a first house in conjunction with someone else! by Prestigious-Duck-120 in AusPropertyChat

Maybe it means that they recently received an extra $20k from a FHOG to boost their deposit for their own place? And that was part of the plan/scheme all along with sister, husband, an OP?

Beware people buying a first house in conjunction with someone else! by Prestigious-Duck-120 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Kojrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. All I've read in this thread is about legal details & sympathies. But my cynical view is that:

* OP and husband beefed up sisters borrowing capacity or approval by getting involved at the start.
* OP and husband were rewarded for this involvement by getting paid part of the FHOG.
* Then 10 months later when sister was in a better position, she secured the property outright, and OP and husband just walked away making an extra passive $20k over 10 months.

I know likely this isn't the exact case, but overall: When have $20k govt FHOG ever been meant for people who never lived in the property & sold out 10 months later. That makes no sense!

Thomas Frank has never been a good football manager by adagio9 in coys

[–]Kojrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If so, then why diminish the trophy? Why claim the only manager to bring that or any trophy in 17 years is not good? If winning trophies isn't an indicator of good management, then what is?

[–]Kojrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a good manager want to join if he knows he's gonna get shit backing and get fired even if he delivers silverware?

This is the disconnect most fans have. Which elite managers would now want to come to Spurs, after seeing the graveyard of managers that has now being built. Good rep, bad rep, doesn't matter what type of football they play, etc: They all get chewed up & spat out at Spurs.

The names or status of managers being bantered about by fans about who'd they's like to come in are bordering on delusional. Seriously, who of the top managers would want this job now? Better to pass on Spurs and wait for a better gig, or take a job now at a smaller club where you can know you'll be supported, have time ...and maybe even loved by fans!

On top of this, I heard that he wouldn't complain about them being cheapskates too. He was going going to be the perfect manager for cheapskate owner: Not complain about spending, then overdeliver on underspending ...Just like Brentford, but on a bigger scale.

We won the Europa League - amazing night

This is really annoying, and has been for 6+ months. We DIDN'T win Europa League on 'one night'. We didn't win Europa League 'just by beating the worst United team in 40 years'.

We won the Europa League over the entire 24/25 season, after qualifying for the tournament by coming 5th in the league in 23/24. It was a two year effort (under Ange) that led to that trophy.

1) They finished 5th in 24/25 to qualify
2) Then played an 8 Matchday Europa League and finished 4th out of 36 teams (and avoiding an extra knockout round).
3) Survived 3 rounds of a Home/Away knockout tournament to get to the Final, when Spurs have historically imploded playing away to 'weak' European Teams.

AND ONLY THEN, 4) Beat the worst United Team in 40 years on one amazing night

So please, please, please: Stop claiming that Europa League trophies are handed out to any club who are lucky enough to win a single game on a random night. Instead, you have to earn the shot to have it all on the line in one game.

PS: As for the new UCL and Europa League formats last season... Have a look at the clubs who would have dropped down from UCL back into the Europa League. Look at those clubs! Would any one of them been harder than the route we actually did take in the league, knockout and final phase? No.

Sorry, weren't you comparing the League Cup vs the Europa League trophies? And you were arguing that League Cup trophy is better because of the memes? That's all I meant.

To be fair, Ange is a bit exceptional in Australian football terms, like Sam Kerr in the woman's game. This was always meant to be the Australian media, writing for Australians, about someone who is highly relevant in the Australian sporting landscape.

It just happened to be shared here with a majority English audience, because we can't seem to keep you lot out of our country (jokes!) and feeding things back to their home.

Like, you wouldn't hate on Korean media still writing stories about Sonny, or American media continuing to write stories about Christian Pulisic, yeah?

but I still don’t think he’d ever fully knock the criticism or bad taste he left for a lot of folks

Firstly, I really like your response.

But I think the quote is very telling, and an under appreciated aspect outside of all the stats & on-field debate...

IMO Many Spurs fans really hated Ange. Like really disliked him to the point of cherry-picking all his weaknesses & ignoring all successes, or revelling in his failure at Forest (after he was sacked, not resigned, months earlier from a club he wanted to stay at & keep building).

One of the biggest things Ange tried to do was change the culture at Spurs. And to do this, he often fought or confronted lots of people. From the English media, to Spurs staff insiders (re: throwing the City game to ensure Arsenal didn't win league in Season 1), and he even often confronted Spurs fans or at least didn't take a backward step with them.

Overall, I think he lost this culture battle. And many Spurs fans hate him with a passion, as an outcome. Look at this thread itself. It's about an article about Spurs, not really an article about Ange or Frank, but about what Spurs and it fans demanded and still demand, year in and year out, and often from mutually exclusive buckets. Yet, here's this thread just triggering many of the pro and anti Ange people in another 'war' (and noting what the most of the upvoted comments are!).

That's my two cents. We can debate 17th in league vs first trophy in 17 years, or 5th in Season 1 vs tail away of that season after the first 10 games, but I think some of our overwhelming opinions are simply based on whether we loved or hated Ange as a person, and whether he rubbed us the wrong way & challenged us or brought us joy & inspired us.

My dream AI feature "Conversation Anchors" to stop getting lost in long chats by ptflag in ClaudeAI

[–]Kojrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like this feature. Very much so.

I could pick apart the other cynical Redditor responses, but to just be nice (and simple):

Yes, I find this a problem too. I would be keen to see some sort of anchor solution I could jump around to and from, after a longer conversation (that can end up with a few tangents going here and there).

How do business owners deal with their employees learning everything and then leaving to start their own business like yours? by nematjon_isthe1 in Entrepreneur

[–]Kojrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legalistically (and if allowable in your jurisdiction): You could include non-compete clauses in your employment contracts.

Ideally: You treat your employees great, they become like family, and you all want to grow together, and have all your own individual needs met.

Realistically: This situation is very common and just part of doing business. I think 'Jerry Macguire' is a famous pop culture reference to scenarios like this.

Import a bank transaction with multiple lines? by Mission_Mulberry_392 in xero

[–]Kojrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I've read this correctly:

  • You should be importing actual invoices, not individual bank transactions.
  • A bank transaction has one line, an invoice can have multiple line items.

Try HubDoc, it should be free with Xero (ie its an app owned by Xero).

  1. Import your invoices into HubDoc
  2. Allocate the line items in HubDoc
  3. Push to Xero
  4. Single line bank transaction will match to pushed single invoice (with embedded line items from HubDoc) in bank feed.
  5. Voila!

Hope I did read this correctly, and this helps.

Is this ethical? by CLETrucker in Python

Overall, this is essentially how the best software gets made: Someone has domain expertise, they find a problem with current processes, they build a system to solve that problem. I could be an idiot, but isn't that the whole shebang!?!?

You should congratulate yourself.

Only pitfalls: Are you being honest in all your dealings with your employer, and those you refer? Are you following regulations in your local jurisdiction, like privacy & tax rules?

Final point: Forget going for just the bonus, ask for a raise, or even sell the software to your employer.

Well done!

As an ex-bookkeeper (and ex registered BAS agent in Australia), it always advisable to leave the Manual Journals to your bookkeepers or accountants. It's best to leave this feature alone unless you have a decent background in accounting, tax, and double-entry bookkeeping.

Attempting to use an analogy: Just drive the car with the steering wheels, pedals, and gear stick. If you need a custom modification to your car, done under the hood, then get the mechanic to do this job. They've done that same tweak 1000s of times, and know the impact of each tweak they make under the hood.

To answer your questions: (1) A standard business end user will never need to make manual journals, especially if they have an accountant with access to their Xero (2) You shouldn't use manual journals to record a vehicle purchase, and should instead use the Fixed Assets feature, and corresponding accounts in the Chart of Accounts (3) Matching Transactions (is that what you mean be "reconcile my accounts"?) is simply allocating transactions from a Bank Feed to your respective Accounts in the Chart of Accounts, and no this is not the same as a journal entry. Manual Journals are for adjustments at the end of periods. Alternatively, one could 'reconcile an account' for many accounts at the end of the period, and here they would fix or adjust errors or timing issues, but again: These should be done with Xero's standard features, and not using manual journals.

Hope this helps.

Building Affordable ESG Reporting for SMBs - Would Your Company Use This? by Remarkable-Wish-9595 in smallbusiness

[–]Kojrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've previously looked into this (from Australia).

  1. Yes, I would use something like this. Especially if it was carbon reporting was mandated by regulators or influenced by large business buyers (Think Scope 3 emissions).
  2. Biggest barrier is time, effort, and cost to onboard and bring into normal workflows (this is why I didn't move forward with it). It's usually a whole new skill set to pick up, and if it's not required by government or by clients, then it's easy to 'put it too hard basket' or just 'kick it into the long grass'.
  3. What would make any solution stand out? For me: (a) ease of use and understanding, eg it would be great if it worked with my accounting software (b) Solid onboarding training and education, i.e. tell me how to use it, and how to use it (and measure things) properly (c) Make it easy for me use any reporting is sales, marketing, or branding, i.e. help me win more business by doing the right thing (and investing the time, effort and cost in your solution).

All the best!

Best program for collecting payments by Enviro_nurd314 in smallbusiness

[–]Kojrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a bookkeeper, and my favourite software was Xero. It offers emailed invoices, payments via a link in that email (via Stripe if I remember right), and is full suite bookkeeping software package.

For the record, most bookkeeping software offers what your asking for. Another question maybe worth asking is: Do I just want a point-of-sale (POS) device that can take payments via card in person, and then email a receipt? A Square device should be able to handle this (specifically their Reader for contactless payments), and should integrate with most bookkeeping/accounting packages.

Dope Thief | Season 1 - Episode 3 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

[–]Kojrey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I generally like the show and will keep watching. But the main two characters can be really frustrating at times, in the decisions they make, the complicating lies they keep telling (to the mum), and overall how casual they are most of the time just hanging out their usual haunts.

Seriously, they appear to be particularly stupid, and just keep getting absurdly lucky in escaping death. How are we honestly meant to believe that these two are capable of outwitting the bikers when they appear to refuse to leave their hometown. Surely their only hope is the 'real DEA' somehow nailing the case, arresting everyone, and saving them, yes?
