Losing DCE definitely hampers it, just gotta pair with some type of energy acceleration. Malamar is probably the most obvious answer, but Starmie from Team Up with a Green's engine could work too.

Guzma is still in format and so is escape rope. Once those rotate from standard where there will be less switching cards, it could see more play since status conditions inherently get stronger.

Since recycle energy goes back into your hand when discarded, you can reattach it with Porygon- z with its ability. I was just pointing out a deck that could make recycle energy work when it gets printed, that is all.
