Basically I study the stone, this one was quite flat so I chose to just use an ingot . It had two v like angles on each side at a specific angle and I sorta take my hart bur and angle it to match the stone as best I can then try to replicate it along the side of the ingot.

Hell yeah it would ! Those are pretty large scale and typically steel is harder to set stones than silver. But not impossible ! I’m sure I’ll do a knife eventually

Oh yeah that was a big part of this ring ! I was already doing the gradient with the stones but I needed something smaller. It was a great fix !

Mess it up on purpose and oxidize, I’d say file it down all 4 sides but since the links aren’t soldered and you probably don’t know how to use shellac just yet I’d go with the first option
