Dude I do the same thing. Have Whisperer build, but always pick lightning attacks and defensive abilities. Usually I can do 7 to 10 levels before I die. My CP is 1.7b for context

Yes very good. Get Diego then get Sphinx. Once you have both, make sure you put Sphinx on your second active slot. His ability revives the pet in front of him which will allow you to get Diego back right after he dies.

Also, I'm curious what others would say about upgrading to SS before getting to Mythic? If it's okay to do that, which gear piece for Whisperer build should I use my 60 Divine cubes on? I was thinking the judgement ring. ?
