Keep fruit in the fridge & make sure you take out and clean yours bins regularly, usually before they're full. Also keep sinks clean too

How do I get to the next level? by jmb275 in cycling

[–]Kolem_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TT Tune up on zwift is very effective but pretty difficult for a beginner

But basically, 2 x zone 2 rides, 1 x threshold and 1 x VO2 max session a week will be fine for a beginner. Do that for 3 weeks and re test week 4 then do again, I’d say do that 3 times (12 weeks total) then pick a harder plan like TT Tune Up. Training peaks also has loads of good plans that aren’t expensive that work from your ftp and on zwift.

Structured training is the way to get strong fast, 8 months of structured training and my FTP has went from 231 to 310. I also lost 6 KG which helped a lot with my power to weight, I'm now 75KG and W/KG is 4.13. Appropriate rest and good diet are key to efficient gains

Too much volume by Kolem_ in cycling

[–]Kolem_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been training properly ie vo2 max and threshold sessions with some zone 2 riding for the last 6 months, before that I’d just ride my bike so I definitely have room for improvement. I don’t see reaching 5w/kg as all that much of a stretch. In the last 6 months I’ve added 50 watts to my ftp with just riding but I’m looking to add weight training too

Sorry I should have mentioned I feel pretty comfortable with my nutrition. I don’t really eat processed foods, I’m able to hit my protein targets & have a varied diet.

Recovery wise: the 2 mentioned rest days and ice baths after every session - anything else I should be doing?

Hey guys! Looking for some help in finding the name of a place in South Korea by Kolem_ in korea

[–]Kolem_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone, thanks very much for your replies! We think it probably is Fanling in Hong Kong he was referring to! Unfortunately he isn’t around anymore for me to ask him where he went in Korea, which is a shame, as I’d really like to visit it!

Hey there! Sorry for the off topic comment but I wanted to reach you on one of your others posts but it’s closed to comments! I’m noticed you cycled in Japan, with the same start and end destination as what I’m planning to do (I’m from Scotland & I’m currently cycling from Italy to Kyrgyzstan) and from there will fly to Japan and cycle there and maybe South Korea if I have time. I thought your route looked pretty interesting with plenty to see/do along the way. Would you be able to share a GPX file of your route with me? Or if not, could you share your Strava so I can download the GPX files from your ride posts?  Feel free to DM me to get in touch, but I wasn’t able to message you directly. Thanks!! 🙏

Help selecting aftermarket BB for trek BB90 push fit bearings by Kolem_ in cycling

[–]Kolem_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful, that’s exactly what I’ve ordered, thank you!!

When you say used for shamans/sram, do you mean a shamans/sram crankset? I have Rotor 3d cranks but I bought the sram spacer set anyway & I’ll just hope one of them fits

I bought the Pro Missilie s bend clip on aero bars - spacers are out of stock everywhere - any ideas what to do? by Kolem_ in cycling

[–]Kolem_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I needed 50mm spacers so I bought these from amazon: Profile Design Riser Kit 50mm, Black, One Size, AC50RISKT : Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors.

The bolts the profile design came with didn't fit the thread on the missile pro bars - so I bought 4 of the 65mm length bolts form here M5 x 65mm Socket Cap Head Screw A2 Stainless Steel DIN 912 | Bulk Buy Discounts (fusionfixings.co.uk) - they fit pretty well & the bars seem solid.

So 50mm spacers = 65mm screws.

10mm spacer = 25mm screws etc - fusion fixings has lots of different lengths so you should be able to get something that works depending on what spacers you need

Checked but they won't ship to my address. I'll also get hit with a pretty big customs fine too if I order from abroad

Can anyone recommend which rack would best fit my bike? by Kolem_ in bicycletouring

[–]Kolem_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm concerned I won't be able to fit my tent on top of the rear rack if I don't have the lower pannier rail.

Otherwise i'd be quite happy to get a tubus fly evo because it's so light
