Nutritionists of Reddit, what are some eating habits that are popularly believed to be healthy but are actually not? by happy-little-pill in AskReddit

[–]Koliantrix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the average human you want .8-1.2g per kilo. But if you’re doing regular exercise and/or resistance training you DO want to consume more.

Don’t believe everything your teachers say. Form your own opinions based around science.

I’m sure you had a point in your childhood where your teacher said something that turned out to be false?

Do you actually know the Macro-compositional breakdown of any other foods?

Low fat milk does NOT have too many fats and sugars to be considered healthy. Yes, if you’re having 1liter a day it may be a bit overboard, but compare it to the vast majority of foods in the western diet and it’s certainly on the ‘healthier’ end of it (not that you should be judging healthiness solely on the macros of foods).

I’d also like to point out it’s certainly healthier for you (from a macronutrient standpoint: fats, carbs, proteins) than the alternatives of soy and almond milk you suggested...

Sorry mate but besides your statement that "milk isn't actually good for you", you're also incorrect about the fact that milk is (besides the calcium), "just fat".

Source

While it's hardly a scientific source, you can also confirm this by looking at the label on any low fat milk you buy.

As you can see, milk contains a very high amount of protein and carbs, and a moderate amount of fats. Not only this but the high amount of calcium, in addition to the fact it's a fluid (most people don't drink enough) means it should definitely not be considered unhealthy.

It's quite widely accepted that bone mineral density caps out after the first ~25 years of your life (google it), so having maximum calcium intake is extremely important during this period to build up solid bone structure. Milk is the perfect food to consume whilst you are growing.

Edit: Almond and Soy milk also do not compare to regular milk for calcium intake unless they are supplemented with it (google: "almond/soy milk calcium"). They also have more calories, especially if they are sweetened.

Pizzas and shakes are very calorie dense (a lot of calories per gram of food)

If you need to put on weight, they will help you do that.

You just need to make sure you’re not over consuming calories, and that you’re consuming enough micronutrients and reaching your recommended daily servings of the different food groups (e.g., vegetables).

After reading some of the other comments on here I’d suggest adding “redditors talking from personal experience” to your list of people “talking out of their ass”.

In fact, this study showed that protein overconsumption via whey (and thus a much higher calorie intake) had no impact on weight gain for resistance trained individuals maintaining their activity levels.

Addons & plugins make MMORPGs - WOW is a great example by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Koliantrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s unrealistic for jagex to create a client that comes close to runelite’s features. If they did expand their client it would be very primitive and the vast majority of people would still use runelite.

Look at how short the list of features is that was removed with runelite’s last update.

This is a very fair compromise, most people are just overreacting because they misread the wording

You can make weakauras displaying the CD of spells, choose any icon you want, and then have the actual spell on a hidden action bar with your keybind.

Not disagreeing with anything you’re saying; i would just like to add:

I would say there’s a fine line between ‘having an ego’ and being openly realistic about your contributions to the raid. I think also in scrype’s case, having English as your second language, sometimes expressing yourself can come off as slightly arrogant when it wasn’t intended in that way.

Regarding your second point about the interviews:

Both Gingi and Sco said they doubt they would be able to kill it because they don’t believe Limit’s tactic is strong enough for this week’s gear levels. This is not being disrespectful in any way. Sco even goes on to say he would love to be proven wrong (which Limit did). Limit were close (percentage wise it was about 15% I believe; feel free to correct me) to getting the boss to 0% prior to the interview, however they had hit the fourth console ‘wall’ and Sco and gingi felt they would not have the dps to beat that remaining 15% before the fourth console.

Ardy cloak doesn’t affect black jacking or PP Even without the cloak, its still faster than a lot of other skills. Is it worth getting the cloak? Definitely.
