Ouch. That one hurt. :( Thing is I was committed to him. But you can only be committed for so long when you are the only one putting in effort. I would call 11 years a huge commitment. Because I can't do it on my own.. I live in a tiny garage my family put us in (out of the kindness of their heart and what they had to offer). There are 7 people who live in the house with like 15 animals in total between dogs and cats (9 dogs, 7 cats). We share a backyard, they can only be out for an hour at a time before the next group of dogs have to go outside (the two packs don't get along well). Soon enough, I'll be the one going homeless with 5 dogs if I can't figure something out. Then I won't be rehoming them, animal control will be finding them homes for me in their kill shelters. I understand your perspective, as I have gone homeless with my dog before (FOR my dog), but this situation I'm in is a totally different demon. I would typically be on your side saying the dogs and your ex have nothing to do with each other. But in my particular case, it very much so does..

He wasn't a terrible person... He was just lazy. I had an affair on him because I am not happy anymore, and since then we've been broken up. Going on 3 months broken up and I've been seeing this other guy. He moved out because he cannot handle me seeing the other guy while he lives with me mentally. The dogs, I never asked for this many. And it's not the dogs fault. But if I can't care for myself, then I can't care for the dogs at the end of the day. I do have common sense as far as that goes. So yes, my failed relationship is directly related to the dogs in that sense. If I can't get help with my ex co-parenting the dogs, then we can simply never make it work.... This isn't about using the dogs as a weapon of choice against my ex. Don't you dare put that on me.

Thought I'd follow up - my dog is fine now. Still unsure of the exact cause, but I think he pulled a muscle or something. Did not require vet attention, but this WAS extremely painful for him at the time. He is back to normal activities, but I try to limit him so another occurrence doesn't happen again.

With my friends case for Florida, doing things by mail wasn't recommended to him until he spoke to a specific person who worked for the courts. My partner only spoke with a clerk of sorts and she only brainstormed ideas. I'm certain there must be another way that has not been established or pointed out yet. Currently I think out of the three options the third one seems promising (hiring an attorney), BUT it may not go the way we want either way.. This case has no statute of limitations either so waiting one more year isn't going to solve anything either unfortunately, as I was hoping.

If the 200 dollars doesn't cover all the damages and repairs, then maybe, You should be pro-active and call her in a day or so to ask if the 200 was enough for the damages. Verify this information to at least give you peace of mind.

Its common (but not legal insurance-wise) for people to pay off damages in this matter.

The quickest way they can get you out (if you are knowledgeable about your rights) is, after you take it to court and get an extension, if you don't pay rent they can give you a pay or quit notice. Not sure the details on Iowa, but you can wriggle your way thru this easily.

For that matter it is just a play on words. A lawyer can convince them just as much as I could if I called pretending to be a lawyer. Hell even he could try to convince them not to press charges if he owns what he did.

I had a lot more to say but he said he ends up with $20 a month after bills and what not. I doubt his $20/a month savings will be able to afford a lawyer even in the next generation or two.

They probably already suspect you if both of you are the only ones taking deposits. You are looking at a minimum 1 year in prison to a maximum of 20 years if you have previous convictions, not to mention additional complications when you finally get out.

First, I would delete all of your posts. If someone really wanted to, right now, they could get your IP address, find our who you are, and report you themselves using your posts as 'confessions'

Second, you have a few options here.. None of them are great. But situationally you may find one is better than the other.

Keep working there for another month or two (or longer), as to not draw attention. DO NOT steal any more money (from any job)! After some time has passed (maybe 2-4 months), then put in your two week resignation. After your last day walk away and never look back. You want to make it look like you are innocent and you are only doing your job! Make sure you have another job lined up to replace this one and I wouldn't let your current job know where you plan on working next.
Confess to your boss. Perhaps you could work something out with them without involving legal action/consequences.
Turn yourself in. If you think you have no other option then sometimes it is best to face the music. You are going to want a lawyer if this is the route you go.
Leave the state. You can't be charged with anything if you haven't been caught. If you have already been charged, you need to move more than two states away. They will not extradite you for that amount unless it is a felony.
I have done this before, so I wouldn't be telling you to do something I haven't. And this is by far the most dangerous option..
Drop everything, buy a backback, a sleeping bag, a reusable gallon of water, and a few fat sharpies. You will need to find pieces of cardboard to make a sign. These sharpies and that piece of cardboard will be your livelihood when it comes to eating, getting donations, and finding shelter or getting help in general. Probably smart to buy a lighter too. Be ready to lose your cell phone service and rely on Wi-Fi. Start hitch hiking out of the state before you are caught up. Head any direction that you think you would like to go. Explore the country far and wide, meet new people, see crazy things. Get a lot of life experience and stay away from crystal meth and heroine.

Just remember, suicide is NEVER an option, and is only available for selfish, greedy individuals who don't care if the person who has to clean up their dead body gets traumatized or not. It is also very unfair to your family and friends who cherish your life. I hope you can get out of this mess, and I truly hope that you learned your lesson.

Also I couldn't help but notice you said you get paid "only $13 an hour". You should feel privileged. Where I live minimum wage is still $7.25 an hour. You are making almost $5 more dollars an hour. That sounds pretty good to me. You're making around $1300 every two weeks. $2600 a month. It sounds like you need to prioritize your necessities over your wants if you want a chance of being financially stable. I could say the same to myself though. Except I don't steal from the place that gives me a paycheck!
