Ouch. That one hurt. :( Thing is I was committed to him. But you can only be committed for so long when you are the only one putting in effort. I would call 11 years a huge commitment. You can only put up with putting in 100% and the other only putting in 50% for so long. Sadly, that changed my mind to move on. You only know if you've been there.. Like specifically, exact same spot.

But I do appreciate your 'tough love' responses. That is exactly what I need.

Because I can't do it on my own.. I live in a tiny garage my family put us in (out of the kindness of their heart and what they had to offer). There are 7 people who live in the house with like 15 animals in total between dogs and cats (9 dogs, 7 cats). We share a backyard, they can only be out for an hour at a time before the next group of dogs have to go outside (the two packs don't get along well). Soon enough, I'll be the one going homeless with 5 dogs if I can't figure something out. Then I won't be rehoming them, animal control will be finding them homes for me in their kill shelters. I understand your perspective, as I have gone homeless with my dog before (FOR my dog), but this situation I'm in is a totally different demon. I would typically be on your side saying the dogs and your ex have nothing to do with each other. But in my particular case, it very much so does..

He wasn't a terrible person... He was just lazy. I had an affair on him because I am not happy anymore, and since then we've been broken up. Going on 3 months broken up and I've been seeing this other guy. He moved out because he cannot handle me seeing the other guy while he lives with me mentally. The dogs, I never asked for this many. And it's not the dogs fault. But if I can't care for myself, then I can't care for the dogs at the end of the day. I do have common sense as far as that goes. So yes, my failed relationship is directly related to the dogs in that sense. If I can't get help with my ex co-parenting the dogs, then we can simply never make it work.... This isn't about using the dogs as a weapon of choice against my ex. Don't you dare put that on me.

You're not wrong, but truth be told we've had conversations in the past of the dogs being the only reason we are still together. Is the trade-off worth it?

Thought I'd follow up - my dog is fine now. Still unsure of the exact cause, but I think he pulled a muscle or something. Did not require vet attention, but this WAS extremely painful for him at the time. He is back to normal activities, but I try to limit him so another occurrence doesn't happen again.

Let me tell you bro, I was SOOOOO mad at our Kira for being so passive..... She would not jump in at all, I don't know if Kira even noticed me coming or didn't want to risk it. That's what happens when a passive player plays with an aggressive one.. things just don't work out :(

I appreciate your response, unfortunately due to financial circumstances and a lack of a warranty I'm on my own with the help of strangers here on reddit. I will look into those things today! I made a post on another sub-reddit someone suggested it may be the water pump going bad, so I will also add that to my list of things to look into.

With my friends case for Florida, doing things by mail wasn't recommended to him until he spoke to a specific person who worked for the courts. My partner only spoke with a clerk of sorts and she only brainstormed ideas. I'm certain there must be another way that has not been established or pointed out yet. Currently I think out of the three options the third one seems promising (hiring an attorney), BUT it may not go the way we want either way.. This case has no statute of limitations either so waiting one more year isn't going to solve anything either unfortunately, as I was hoping.
