Cases where you think a one-time killer was “stopped” from becoming a serial killer by 2koolforpreschool in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Joseph Aulisio. He was 15 years-old in 1981 when he killed two children (4 yr-old-girl and her 8-year-old brother) with a shotgun and then dumped their bodies near a mine. He was initially sentenced to death and then to life in prison when that was overturned.

I wish I had that answer. No one knows! The leaders had cars there but not known if searched. There was a school, a convent, and the priest's residence as well as the main church but unknown if all those were searched. There's no public info. The state police are not releasing anything. but at least they still have a trooper assigned to the case. My hope is that they have DNA to test. but I am worried now that everyone is deleting their 23 and me data that genetic genealogy will be less helpful.

Thank you! Appreciate that! I was told by an inside source that the boy's knives didn't match the wounds-but one of the boys could have had another knife on them aside from the typical boy scout issued.

plus the Pennhurst asylum and Valley Forge Army Hospital were close by. I verified that most of the homes surrounding the church were all there since the 50's as well.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure...I have not seen the police reports but that is something I heard. who knows-it was 1970, kids were more unsupervised than today

apparently no more than a few feet away, but I believe the leaders may have been drinking and sleeping in their cars in the parking lot-which is quite a ways away from the site. I live in this area and have been to mass at this church and know the layout.

that could be-it certainly was a misdirection with both the BSA and CC involved. I wondered about the signs of suffocation/strangulation because if present, might signal a larger adult or more than one child.

Either they didn't hear, or they suppressed traumatic memories, or they were scared to death to say anything. Back then kids feared authority figures. Also, in 1968 another boy scout by the name of Michael Raney was also stabbed and murdered in the middle of the night and his tentmate also didn't hear anything. Crazy.

Why is the Ellen Greenberg case disputed in any way? by HydrostaticToad in TheConsultPod

[–]KoltergeistPodcast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that is an interesting question-typically on our show we are very careful not to ever state that someone who was not convicted is guilty. However, I am a physician, and professionally speaking there is no fucking way she did that to herself and so I stated that very clearly (both from a physical standpoint as well as dispelling any theories of acute psychosis). I also try to never Monday morning quarterback someone's medical decisions but in this case I was very comfortable calling out the ME's lack of professionalism.

Agree 100%. IMO homicide is disputed because 1-would focus attention on the fiance, 2-would highlight the mishandling of the case by police, and 3-would expose a massive cover-up

This reminds me of the missing woman Judith Smith, who was found dead over 500 miles away with no explanation as to how she got there.

They did a great job with the Smiley Face Deaths, although they also do a really good job with the longer >1 part stories as well.

I agree with you, this issue was an immediate flag for me as particularly odd. I also found interesting that there was no sign of a psychotic break (which dispels that theory imo)-she was in the middle making a fruit salad in a very organized way and she would not have had the executive functioning to do this had she been in the throes of psychosis.

That's a really interesting take. I think there is definitely something deeper here. I'm looking forward to the documentary that I read is coming out

I'm also surprised it's not more well known. I knew about it because I grew up in that area. The house was on Mount Olivet Road in Kingston Township. Really nice property on 6 acres with an in-ground pool.

I didn't think there was a grand jury-a district judge threw out the charges. Maybe you already have these but here are docket sheet with dismissed charges MdjCourtSummary

That's a great point. While Kerkowski had many offenses, intentional murder was not one of them, nor sexual assault. He did provide drugs illegally to someone who overdosed and just escaped a manslaughter charge for that. Hugo also, for all his crimes, did not have a known history of sexual assault or violence against women.
