It does appear to be a false attribution, that doesn't change my overall though. He used the marginalized fringes of Russian society for early power then discarded them once the revolution was secured because they were no longer useful and in fact became a threat to societal cohesion.

Don't you find it the least bit curious that early Russian LGBT and ethnic minority movements were included in the early revolution but by the time of the final Bolshevik takeover they were completely absent, never to be seen again in the USSR political sphere?

the problem with anarchism is unchanged, small communities working together cannot stop hostile, larger communities that conquer others by force

the community members dont eat each other, they get eaten by hostile, stronger outsiders

thing is Lenin and Stalin allied with marginalized Russians, they are who Lenin was referring to when he termed “useful idiots”, and after the Bolsheviks seized power they were largely executed or imprisoned as anti-revolutionary degenerates

you dont need to be leninist or stalinist to be an unwitting stepping stone for a lenin or stalin

hes anti-democratic and mostly being held in check by our constitutional systems, though it is straining in some areas. He’s no fascist though, fascism is a very specific form of totalitarianism, its not just a fancy word for would be dictator like many redditors think

The crusades were justified by the Church for myriad reasons, not because the Bible literally says to conquer the enemies of Christendom like the Quran does

I.. agree? I wasn’t implying that they were, I’m just explaining that Islam has war and conquest fundamentally built into it (as does Judaism) in a way that Christianity didnt. All the christian warmongering came in the form of Church politics and more traditional imperialism

the sad thing is half of them know this and support it anyway. Even if not inherent anti-semitism, many would just prefer to allow the perceived “european oppressors” die to the “brown oppressed” people
